The Science of Invocation and Evocation
In its annual passage, Aquarius mirrors in microcosm the sign of Aquarius that the Sun is precessing into on its 2,160 year cycle; we still stand in the 500 year cusp of the Pisces-Aquarian ages, but closer to the Aquarian, said to astronomically start in 2117 CE.1
Aquarius the water-bearer is one of the few human signs of the zoo-diac of animals, the man with a pitcher of water upon his shoulder, serving his fellow humanity by pouring forth for those who “thirst”.
Aquarius and Pisces were the last two signs that were “activated” in our zodiac, since a ten-sign zodiac in Atlantean times and an eight-sign zodiac earlier in the ancient Lemurian era. These two signs also represent Lamech and Noah of Old Testament fame, the former being the Manu of the fifth subrace of the Fourth Rootrace Atlantis (4.5) and the latter Noah, or Vaivasvata Manu of the following Fifth Rootrace.2
All this occurred at the start of our Fifth Rootrace several million years ago (in its nascent beginnings) and Aquarius-Pisces are the polar opposite of the two signs that were added in early Atlantean times Leo-Virgo, the Sphinx. The Fifth Rootrace’s “mission” has been to utilise these Aquarian forces to further develop the mind – than the earlier more emotionally-polarised Atlantean Fourth Rootrace.
Aquarius has only one ray passing through it, the Fifth Ray of Science,3 ruled by Venus. Venus here is the Goddess of Beauty who harmonises and makes whole the cleavages and dualities of the mental plane; of course the higher mental plane is the seat of the soul and eventually this energy filters down to the astral plane where Venus is most commonly known as the Goddess of Love.
As most people approach love through the feeling nature, this is how Venus is commonly perceived. Yet a hint of how love is expressed from the mental plane may be perceived in the classic “cool” Aquarian who some may regard as “cold”, but only because some may expect “warm and fuzzy”.
Hence, the Fifth Ray and Aquarius conditioning the Fifth Rootrace is most appropriate for not only mental development, but also Humanity learning far more detachment and co-operation with one another. In the cycle we are entering on the 2,160 year wheel, we are learning far more about group processes, co-operation and community than ever before. These “groups” and “communities” can be one or several people, online, in the city or on the farm!
Aquarius naturally invokes its opposite Leo and the challenge for all conscious workers in the new era is to submit the lower ego to a group process that has a common goal; this of course has its higher expression and lower expression, subject to the distorting lenses of high idealism or unprocessed, unconscious baggage.
The signs of the zodiac are living beings, electro-magnetic patterns if you like, that are ensouled by highly evolved entities from a parallel evolution to Humanity known as the angelic or deva kingdom. These beings are the signs, and the signs evolve and develop in response to human evolution and interaction with these “celestial hierarchies”, as they are also called; they have evolved in response to the thoughts and ideas of thousands of astrologically minded people for millenia.
The cultivation of this relationship is all part of the Science of Invocation and Evocation; something that has occurred far more unconsciously in the recent past, but which was far more conscious and deliberate in ancient times when the priest-astrologers would invoke the “regents” of the planets, the beings that ensouled them.
That Science of Invocation and Evocation is one of the primary areas of learning that is slated for us in the Aquarian Age, whether it be the invoking of Deity, the zodiac signs, the planets, the rays “lives”, the Masters, our own souls, the group soul or Sanat Kumara, who holds the divine blueprint of the plan and purpose for this planet.
“The science of invocation and evocation will take the place of what we now call prayer and worship. Be not disturbed by the use of the word “science.” It is not the cold and heartless intellectual thing so oft depicted. It is in reality the intelligent organisation of spiritual energy and of the forces of love, and when effective, will evoke the response of spiritual Beings Who can again walk openly among men and thus establish a close relation and a constant communication between humanity and the spiritual Hierarchy.”4
Another science, the greatest tool for liberation ever gifted to Humanity, is meditation. At the five-day full moon periods particularly, we all have the opportunity to align with our soul, group or Master and commune with one another – this is the true cultivation of community mentioned earlier – a community of souls. It is also a great opportunity to put into fullest practice that which we have been working upon in the previous month, to work in a scientific and detached manner with ourselves and others; to be able direct energy clearly with right and loving intent – this is part of what is meant by the phrase – “white magic”.
Emerging Consciousness of Aquarius
Aquarius is certainly a magical sign. The Fifth Ray is a ray of manifesting, but much more so the Seventh Ray of Ceremonial Order or Magic; it is associated with Aquarius through its ruler Uranus, also this ray’s ruler. The Seventh Ray has been increasing in its strength since 1945 and will be in “incarnation” more or less paralleling the entire period of the 2,160 year cycle of the Aquarian Age.
The “manifestation” that we have the opportunity to see in this cycle is the “soul made flesh” or the Kingdom of Souls externalised upon the physical plane. Aiding and abetting this divine “conspiracy” is the Externalisation of the Masters of Wisdom from the year 2025 onward. Hence this coming Aquarian Age will see “the circle well nigh trod and the end approacheth the beginning” – for several reasons:
1. It will be the first time that the Masters have planned to “reappear” amongst Humanity since the dying days of Atlantis and its great war, when they were forced to withdraw from human contact to work behind the scenes for a period of “millions” of years. It was at that time that the 11th and 12th signs of Aquarius and Pisces were activated.
2. This cycle of Aquarius in the “lesser wheel” of 2,160 years makes a rare coincidence with a cycle of Aquarius on the “greater wheel” of 25,000 years:
“Therefore, my brothers, the closer relation of the Hierarchy to Shamballa, the stimulation of its own interior life, and the readiness of humanity for revelation and for certain unexpected development, will condition the cycle into which we are now entering. This is, therefore, the most amazing period in the history of humanity.
Added to this, it must be borne in mind that we are entering another greater round of the Zodiac, and this coincides with the lesser zodiacal activity because Aquarius governs the greater immediate cycle of 25,000 years and is also the sign into which the sun is now moving for a period of 2300 years – a most amazing happening and full of import in our planetary history …”5
3. The first 700-year decanate of Aquarius will see the possibility of achievement of the Third Initiation by a significant number of souls. If this occurs, then it will signify a measure of “safety” for Humanity in terms of the influence of the forces of materialism – those very forces which are currently fighting to distract us from the main event.
4. Several major revelations will enter into the mainstream of understanding:
a. The destruction of the morbid fears and thoughtform around death that has plagued Humanity since Atlantean days:
“This, our present cycle, is the end of the age, and the next two hundred years will see the abolition of death, as we now understand that great transition, and the establishing of the fact of the soul’s existence. The soul will be known as an entity, as the motivating impulse and the spiritual centre back of all manifested forms.”6
b. The re-establishment of the knowledge of the deva kingdom and angels and how to work intelligently with them; this has already been occurring for the past fifty years in various communities, groups and individuals around the world.
c. The new music and art that will unfold – unlike humanity has ever heard or seen.
d. The mystery of electricity will be revealed in the “middle of the 21st century”.
e. The closer approach of the great cosmic being called the Avatar of Synthesis – working in concert with the increasing power of the Seventh Ray of Ceremonial Order.
f. A greater expression of Love in the world.
g. A merging of the esoteric knowledge with mainstream science.
To name a few! Gigantic Jupiter and its cycles will be most important as it is the major planet in this solar system that is the transmitter of the Second Ray of Love-Wisdom; it is also the soul ruler of Aquarius. In other words, the Aquarian water-bearer is a dispenser of Love to all who thirst for it (and who doesn’t?); one does not have to be an “Aquarian” to serve as such, Aquarius rules over the World Server and that is where we are all headed!
