Taurus the “mother of illumination” is similar to Cancer the mother - both embody the theme of Mother Earth or Gaia. The moon’s respective exaltation and rulership of these signs links their similarities. The moon is intimately related to growth in the vegetable kingdom, in terms of ancient lunar cycles for planting and harvesting: The moon is, "the sovereign of the vegetable world". Earthy Taurus is a sign of money, resources, land and property - and farming. The Strait of Hormuz crisis has raised the spectre of food shortages in the next couple of years - due to delayed supply chains of fuel and fertiliser.
