The Libra Equinox 2026 (Part 1)
This article is posted regularly at the two equinoxes of the year. The Libra equinox holds a pattern for the next quarter until the Capricorn solstice on Dec.21.

The Eternal Now

The Libra equinox – equal night and day – where an interlude intervenes, as the passage of the sun along the Earth’s ecliptic – crosses the celestial equator, announcing the autumn or spring equinox, depending upon the hemisphere in which you reside.

The Libra equinox (Sept.23), is symbolic of Libra in general – its horoscope sets the tone for the next quarter of the year.

The equinox is one of the cardinal points that builds the four-square foundation of the annual cycle: Aries-Libra, Cancer-Capricorn.

Libra is the balance between seasons, night and day, or head and heart. Libra is fairness, justice and right relationships – seeking through its ruler Venus to unite the pairs of opposites, creating beauty and harmony.

Libra has been called the sign of “No-mans-land” – that neutral space between the warring opposites – where linear, illusory time is transcended, revealing the Eternal Now. Where the scales are balanced and poised to a point – where decision can be reached – using the judicial mind.

Through its esoteric ruler Uranus, Libra presides over relationships between groups, bringing like-minded collectives together in mutual co-operation.

Libra precedes Aquarius, ruled by Uranus exoterically, furthering the shared goals of group work and community – particularly groups of nations. The airy trigon of Gemini, Libra and Aquarius represent the three main zodiac signs of relationships:

– Gemini – general relationships – identifying the common thread between all.
– Libra – personal, intimate relationships.
– Aquarius – group relationships.

 

This triangle is particularly emphasised at the Libra 2026 equinox and full moon that follows shortly after – by a grand trine formation between Sun in Libra, Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius.

On the diagram of the celestial sphere (see above), the ecliptic represents time – its invisible circle describes the year it takes for the Earth to move around the Sun. The equator represents space – the division that is made between hemispheres, and extends out to the celestial equator.

Hence, the intersection between these two circles – the equinoxes and solstices, represents where space and time meet, yet the possibility that the illusion of space-time can be transcended; these four points represent doorways where alignment can take place with the inner, timeless realms of the soul.

Saturn is the Lord of Time and is exalted in Libra, measuring out the cycles of an incarnation; it has a profound relation to the cardinal cross – exalted in Libra, falling in Aries, detriment in Cancer and dignified in Capricorn.

The Libra Equinox 2026 (Part 2)
The equinox horoscope for Sept.23 holds some dynamic configurations – to name a couple: 1. Venus in Scorpio square Pluto in Aquarius. 2. Sun in Libra opposite Neptune in Aries.

1. Venus in Scorpio square Pluto in Aquarius.
While the Sun passes through Libra for 30 days, its expression will be considerably qualified by the transit of its ruler Venus, through Scorpio. Venus in Scorpio plunges us into the deep emotional waters of Scorpio-ruler Pluto – and his underworld domain.

Due to Mars’ rulership of this sign (and its co-rulership of the astral body) – conflict in relationships can arise around the themes of sex and power, jealousy, obsession and shared resources; the depths of intimacy, desire and emotional attachment; independence and personal boundaries.

Given that Pluto in Aquarius is also square to Venus – all that is hidden in the depths is bound to bubble to the surface and be revealed in the clear light of day.

Here is a window of opportunity for the next month or two to consciously face the shadow or “dweller on the threshold” – obstacles which stand in the way of soul expression.

It is essentially a journey to love, as old issues may resurface and crystallised behaviour patterns are stripped away. Sub-personalities are seen more clearly and integrated.

Resistance is futile (!) and can only result in being trapped in pain. Resistance becomes relinquishment – submission to Venus-Pluto brings freedom. But easier said than done, it takes fortitude and courage.

Corresponding to this window of time is that Venus is currently slowing down to go retrograde on Oct.3 and will soon astronomically “enter the underworld” – in its regular disappearance from the night sky.

Depending upon location in the northern hemisphere, this can be from early October to late November. Venus will be invisible in the night sky for both hemispheres around October 24, 2026, when it reaches a Sun conjunction at zero degrees Scorpio.

Hence, these extra factors magnify the Scorpio themes of death, transformation and astral glamour. Mars’ battleground and Pluto’s “burning ground” creating an intense testing ground for the Venus-Libra-Scorpio themes of relationships, the law, sex and money.

2. Sun in Libra the peacemaker – opposite Neptune in Aries, the warrior. This pattern can enhance high idealism, mystical vision and intuition – or the dissolving of illusions. More commonly – due to Neptune’s rulership of the astral body – obscuration, glamour, deception and confusion in personal, group or international relationships. Especially as the moon in Aries is closely conjunct Neptune.

Esoterically, Neptune is one of the names of The Christ, whose return is imminent in these next decades. Aries is “the lamb of god”, hence Neptune’s transit through Aries until 2039 may afford some glimpses and previews of the Externalisation of the Great White Brotherhood (GWB) on Earth.

Currently Humanity is locked in a mighty struggle with the GWB’s polar opposite, the Dark Brotherhood – or should that read “botherhood”!

All of this is a recapitulation of the ancient planetary struggle between the forces of light and materiality in ancient Atlantis – culminating in its cataclysmic destruction.

Humanity is at the same point of choice again, in standing up for spiritual principles in the face of ignominy, aggression and authoritarianism. Libra rules choices and decisions, through the judicial weighing of the scales of the law and justice.

Venus in Scorpio: Spiritual Intuition or Pure Reason (Original 2021 article here.)
Libra-ruler Venus entered Scorpio on Sept. 10, 2026 and due to its retrograde and direct motion, will stay there for a long time – until Jan.7 2027. The following article is an exploration of the esoteric dimension of Venus in Scorpio.

Venus is the exoteric ruler of Libra, presiding over this sign’s traditional themes of love, sex, relationships, beauty and art. But Venus is also the ruler of the fifth ray of science or knowledge, contributing to Libra’s “mental” polarisation and practicality.

Venus functions very powerfully in Scorpio and is worth considering its esoteric implications – especially as it cycles around through the signs quickly – every 225 days.

Venus is regarded as Earth’s “sister planet” or “higher self”, hence its importance as a powerful guiding influence over Humanity. The following passage about Venus in Scorpio – esoterically considered, requires some explanation.

Understanding the planes and subplanes, the various gradations of matter, from the coarsest to the most refined, constitutes one of the ABC’s of occultism.

“Venus, the intelligent mind, has its power lessened in this sign because the intellect—having been developed and used—must now be subordinated to a higher power of the soul, the spiritual intuition. The Son of Mind, the solar Angel, must now manifest as a Son of God.

This solar Angel, when in control, must give place eventually to the Presence. This it has hitherto veiled or hidden. Venus must wane and the Sun—as a symbol of Deity—must wax in influence and finally take its place. Such are the symbolic and esoteric significances.”1

Venus is the ruler and transmitter of the fifth ray of science or knowledge and harmonises the pairs of opposites upon the mental plane, creating harmony and beauty. That harmonisation precipitates onto the astral plane – where Venus is more commonly known as the goddess of love, sex and relationships.

“The Son of Mind, the solar Angel” is the human soul whose “causal body” resides on the three upper sublanes of the mental plane. Just as the human personality in any given incarnation is the vehicle for the soul’s expression, so the soul is utilised by the Monad – the highest essential expression of who we are.

The monad is also known as the Presence – mentioned in the above passage, and to which the soul must “eventually give place to”. This finally occurs at the exalted fourth initiation, also called Liberation, Crucifixion or the Great Renunciation – taken by the likes of Jesus, Yogananda, Ramana Maharshi etc.

The fourth degree initiation corresponds to the fourth plane of intuition or buddhi, whose more finely attenuated frequencies reside beyond the mental plane. This buddhic realm is the spiritual goal for Humanity – the “Christ consciousness”, that is gradually expanding mental awareness and intuition, over many lifetimes.

Therefore, Venus in Scorpio in the natal chart or by transit, brings opportunity to develop greater intuition – the sixth sense that lays beyond the five finite s enses – the “common sense”. Intuition is direct knowledge and buddhi is the realm of a Buddha.

The fourth plane of perception has a connection to the fourth ray of Harmony through Conflict, the main ray conditioning all of Humanity – also known as the ray of art, beauty and music. The fourth ray is the only ray to pass through Scorpio.

Hence Venus in Scorpio is extraordinarily stimulating for higher creativity, the opposite of procreative activity – for which Scorpio is infamous.

Think seductive femme-fatale Sharon Stone and the ogling men in the film, Basic Instinct! (Stone has Jupiter-Neptune in Scorpio – a true “screen siren”.) Scorpio rules the organs of reproduction and elimination – the great cosmic mystery of sex. Yet, Venus-ruled Libra might be more deeply related to sex:

“Esoterically, however, it is in Libra that the whole question comes up and will increasingly come up for answering, and it is in Libra that the balancing of the pairs of opposites must take place and reach solution through the activity of the judicial mind and the establishing of a point of equilibrium between the male and the female principles.”13 (Readers may find of interest two newsletters Sex and Relationships (Libra: Part I)    Sex and Relationships (Scorpio: Part II).

The last part of the quote about Venus in Scorpio is deeply esoteric and inscrutable: “Venus must wane and the Sun—as a symbol of Deity—must wax in influence and finally take its place.”

In Esoteric Astrology, the sun is said to “veil” Neptune – regarded as the primary planet of intuition or buddhi, hence the “god of the waters” has an indirect influence upon this watery sign Scorpio. Scorpio is a sign of testing and trials for the second initiation, where the astral “waters” are demonstrated to be under control by the disciple on the Path.

Mercury is the other main planet of intuition, is the co-ruler of the fourth ray (the only ray to pass through Scorpio) – and hierarchical ruler of Scorpio.

Mercury and the Sun are also regarded as “one” esoterically, hence the passage above may be hinting at this relationship. These are just a few speculations that can be reflected upon by the deep student!

And finally as an aside, Venus is the brightest planet in the night sky, having a close relationship to the brightest star, Sirius – the source of “logoic mind”. Venus was “responsible for the coming of mind to the Earth” at human “individualisation” in ancient Lemurian times.

A triangle was formed between Venus, Mercury and the Earth – which set up a magnetic field, creating an opportunity for “intervention” by the Great White Lodge on Sirius.

Hence, there is a close relationship between Venus and Sirius, the former the “higher self” to Earth, the latter – higher self to our solar system:

“Scorpio is under the influence or inflowing energy of Sirius … Scorpio influences the turning point both in the life of humanity and the life of the individual human being … For the first time in the history of both mankind and disciples, the energy of Sirius … evokes a response.”2

Mercury in Libra: Negotiations, Decisions and Sex (Sept.11-30).
Mercury entered Libra on the Sept. 11 new moon – at the same time as Venus entered Scorpio. Mercury will remain there for a brief 2.5 weeks while the Sun is passing through Virgo and Libra.

Hence, Mercury the mediator will be in Libra the diplomat for a short but significant time.

Mercury is the negotiator and Libra is the peacemaker, hence this period (Sept.23-30.) will provide opportunities for negotiations of all kinds – peace talks between warring nations, business deals, financial transactions etc.

Note the many meetings and speeches currently at the United Nations.

Decision-making is another Libran quality, as is endless procrastination – Libra’s shadow. When the scales are balanced, then a decision can be made via the “judicial mind”.

Mercury is also the trickster, so there may also be attempted “sleights of hand” or trickery during this time, especially by Mercury-ruled Gemini nations and leaders (ahem!).

As Libra-ruler Venus transits tbrough Scorpio and Mercury passes through Libra, there is a kind of mutual reception – as Mercury is the hierarchical ruler of Scorpio (the “deep sea diver”) and Venus is the exoteric ruler of Libra.

Both Libra and Scorpio are close associated with sex – Scorpio with its intense emotional and physical expression, Libra mainly in the context of marriage and relationships. Uranus rules the sacral/sexual chakra and is the esoteric ruler of Libra – where a greater detachment might be developed in any ongoing “war of the roses”.

Uranus – the “planet of science” (mind), is exalted in Scorpio where its potency is used to control the astral or desire nature. The following passage from Esoteric Astrology gives another perspective of these two signs – to be borne in mind while Venus and Mercury transit Scorpio and Libra respectively.

Mercury and Venus briefly meet each other in Scorpio – early October, as Venus heads back into Libra for several weeks through to early Dec. before re-entering Scorpio. The following passage contains author’s commentary in square [ ] brackets:

“It is because of this balancing quality in Libra that this constellation can be associated more specifically with the problem of sex than can any of the others. Sex is usually connected in the mind of the average astrological student with the signs Taurus and Scorpio.

This is probably due to the fact that the Bull is so frequently regarded as the symbol of the mad urges of the uncontrolled sex principle and because in Scorpio fundamental tests are applied.

For most aspirants in the early stages, sex does constitute a fundamental problem.

Esoterically, however, it is in Libra that the whole question comes up and will increasingly come up for answering, and it is in Libra that the balancing of the pairs of opposites must take place and reach solution through the activity of the judicial mind and the establishing of a point of equilibrium between the male and the female principles.

[“Activity of the judicial mind” draws upon Saturn’s exaltation in Libra – and the Saturn-ruled 3^rd ray of active-intelligence – the only ray to pass through this sign. Saturn, one of the four lords of karma and ruler of the throat chakra, gateway to the mental body.]

This again (for it is a piece of recurrent symbology) is the problem existing basically between the Sheep and the Goats, between negative and positive, and between those who blindly follow either instinct or custom – and those who climb freely where they choose and are self-directed in conduct and attitude.

This self-direction may lead them in either direction upon the wheel of life, following either selfish desire or spiritual aspiration, but the point to have in mind is that, judicially and with intent and after due reflection and balancing of the various ways, they then do as they will and as seems to them right and desirable.

This is of itself of a basic usefulness and thereby they learn; for all action produces results and the judicial mind weighs cause and effect [karma] more correctly than any other.”3

Aries-Libra: War and Peace: Global Conflict
Two major conflicts threaten to expand: Russia-Ukraine and Iran-Israel/USA.

Russia-Ukraine: Bellicosity appears to be the order of the day, as European nations bark belligerently at “evil” Russia like impotent Chihuahuas, with barks worse than their bite.

Nine European NATO countries currently have conscription in place, preparing their military forces to address perceived threats.

Much of this trend is driven by people like Mark Rutte, the head of NATO – who have been brainwashed by fanatical ideology -essentially a 1990’s extension by the US Neocons and NATO of the Cold War that began in the 1950’s.

Rutte has the Sun in Aquarius square to Neptune in Scorpio, lacking discrimination, captured by a distorted idealism. His moon in Aries square Jupiter in Cancer is easily stirred to aggression (Aries) to “defend” the homeland (Cancer).

The three M’s – Mertz of Germany, Macron of France, Meloni of Italy – to name a few European leaders, are caught up in the same illusion. Britain’s new PM – Andy Burnham has said “Britain faces an ‘inevitable’ Russian attack”.

Nothing could be further from the truth, as most non-mainstream news observers declare regularly, and as Russian leaders have re-stated ad nauseum. Many believe it is a brazen lie concocted by a small but powerful group bent on destroying Russia -through their Ukraine proxy – consolidated by repetitive propaganda.

Do they think that poking the Russian bear will get a response that gives them an excuse to bring in a more deadly attack on Russia?

The UK government is “rapidly developing” plans to prepare for the “possible outbreak of war”. All these tactics are designed to keep people in perpetual fear and uncertainty, affording easier manipulation.

Iran-Israel/USA: The forces that began aggression upon Iran earlier in 2026, received a lot more than they anticipated. It was no Venezuelan cake-walk but an utterly ill-conceived and botched aggression.

USrael hubris has turned into humiliation, creating a dangerous desperation to save face by resorting to more destructive weaponry. Hence these two global flashpoints which are in themselves connected, both have the capacity to degenerate into a broader global conflict.

Libra is known as the Peacemaker, the sign that subdues the warring pairs of opposites – individually, in groups and in nations. Libra the Scales weighs the balance between Libra and its opposite sign Aries, ruled by Mars, the god of war.

Venus, as ruler of Libra, is the harmonising factor. Venus and Mars were lovers in ancient mythology, pointing to the union of opposites, male and female and the Libran theme of sex.

“… in Libra the whole question [of sex] comes up and will increasingly come up for answering … in Libra the balancing of the pairs of opposites must take place and reach solution through the activity of the judicial mind and the establishing of a point of equilibrium between the male and the female principles.”4

War and sex have been inextricably entwined themes for millennia. Oftentimes the undiscriminating use of sex has led to over-population and consequently war.

And war sees the grossest abuses of sex by soldiers – masculine Mars at in its lowest density, but probably also the primordial instinct to reproduce after slaughter.

Since its inception in the ancient Lemurian epoch, Humanity has been incessantly at war, with rare periods of harmony and beauty that some civilisations enjoyed in past “golden ages”, or Satya Yugas.

In this Kali Yuga cycle that sees the “waning of the law”, death, destruction and increasing daily horrors – conflict and war are ever-present. Humanity finds itself in chaos and conflict, in a Libran dilemma between the zodiacal ages of Pisces and Aquarius, between the cycles of the sixth and seventh rays and, between the Fifth Rootrace and the emerging Sixth Rootrace. Libra rules this period as discussed in this well-worn passage,

“In this transition period through which the world is now passing and in this interlude between two activities – that of the Piscean Age which is passing and that of Aquarius which is coming in – Libra will eventually rule, and the end of this century [20th] will see the influence of Libra steadily coming into pronounced control and into a position of power in the planetary horoscope. There is, therefore, no need for real anxiety.”5

Really, no need for “real anxiety”? Despite these reassuring words from the Master, it is hard for many not to be anxious during this tumultuous time.

It is difficult to grasp to what degree the emerging new paradigm has attained a firm foothold, and how much it has been obstructed by the old status quo, the warring forces of materialism.

War is waged continually and indefinitely it seems, with increasingly questionable motives by Western alliances, with world war scenarios looming large as trillions are spent upgrading navies and airforces. (See also, USA’s Perpetual War: Aries-Libra.)

It is very hard for many of us to see through the smoke of the battle, as the darkness of the old age threatens to engulf the emerging Aquarian light.

This situation is further fueled by the smoke and mirrors propaganda war orchestrated by dominant global media, compounded by the lower expression of deceptive Neptune opposite the Sun at this Libra-Aries full moon.

Humanity finds itself today at exactly the same point of DECISION (one of Libra’s major themes), as it did in ancient Atlantis.

The guiding Masters of that time presented Humanity with a choice between the emerging light of the next cycle – or to continue the way of a selfish and spiritually irresponsible culture. Sounds familiar?

That ultimatum led to the great Atlantean war, epitomised in the Hindu epic, The Mahabharata, of which The Bhagavad Gita is its’ golden kernel:

“A study of The Bhagavad Gita and of Arjuna’s problem when he sat down in despair between the two opposing armies will be found most illuminating in connection with Libra. The great battle which is related in that ancient scripture of India really took place in the first instance in mid-Atlantean days and in the sign Libra.

The major conflict of this present [written in WWII], Aryan period [Fifth Rootrace] is being waged upon a higher turn of the spiral and is under the influence of Scorpio.

That in the past prepared the world probationary disciple, humanity, for the path of true discipleship. That in the present is preparing the world disciple to take initiation.

During the vast interim between the Atlantean decisive happening and the present time, a great re-orientation upon the wheel of life has taken place; since then, several million have passed from Scorpio into Libra (symbolically speaking) and there have been “weighed in the balances” and have afterwards refocussed their desire life towards spiritual aspiration and reinforced their determination to move forward and thus have returned into Scorpio upon the reversing wheel. Ponder upon this thought, for this constitutes the real problem for the masses of intelligent [wo]men at this time.”6

Note that Libra rules the “reversal of the wheel” where the trend of many lives of material living is reoriented by striving toward the soul.

To paraphrase the earlier passage, “Refocusing the desire life in Libra, the disciple reincarnates in the next sign Scorpio – where the tests are applied regarding the earlier decision to reverse the wheel.

This is why both Libra and Scorpio are closely related to the theme of sex. Also in reference to the above passage, the Scorpio period of World War II has been now superseded by Libra, as in the aforementioned phrase, “coming into a position of power in the planetary horoscope.”

Libra’s pre-disposition to procrastination is embodied in Arjuna’s paralysis in action upon the battlefield, as the two enormous armies were about to clash. Arjuna was caught in “no man’s land” – over which Libra is “master” – that space between the “two great lines of force”. As the zodiac force that presides over interludes, the energy of Libra is present between all cycles.

Arjuna was torn between destroying his relatives, teachers and community leaders – people he loved and respected, or to retire in peace to a kingdom and a few pleasures.

He therefore sought advice from his charioteer Krishna, symbol of the soul; Arjuna represents the questing yet bewildered personality.

It is here that Krishna gave Arjuna some profound guidance – this is the heart of the Bhagavad Gita, a glimpse of which is found in this short excerpt:

“You grieve for those who are not worthy of grief, and yet speak words of wisdom. The wise grieve neither for the living nor for the dead. There was never a time when these monarchs, you or I did not exist, nor shall we ever cease to exist in the future. The soul acquires another body after death. The invisible Spirit is eternal. The visible physical body is transitory. The Spirit pervades this entire universe and is indestructible.

No one can destroy the imperishable Spirit. The physical bodies of the eternal, immutable, and incomprehensible Spirit are perishable.

Therefore, fight for your right as your duty, O Arjuna. The Spirit is neither born nor does it die at any time. It does not come into being, or cease to exist. It is unborn, eternal, permanent, and primeval.”

Another profound dialogue from the Gita is in The Mahabharata movie, whose spiritual essence was beautifully rendered by English director, Peter Brook – and an international troupe of classical actors. (Unfortunately, the profound 6’ minute dialogue has been removed from YouTube.)

Today the World Arjuna stands bewildered between the opposing forces, recognising the relationship between soul and personality and wondering where duty lies. This is a regular, recurrent cycle for all aspirants and the battle can rage on different levels, over several lifetimes.

It is the age-old conflict between material domination and spiritual control; the highly developed personality must be subjugated and controlled by the soul. Aries ruler Mars, brings Arjuna into the fight – Krishna himself said he was “never without action”.

In one life or another, the battle reaches a crescendo and the disciple must make a final stand by allowing the soul to take control, leading to triumph and ultimately, initiation.

Today, the world Arjuna is battling on a higher turn of the evolutionary spiral, this time war rages upon the mental plane through warring ideologies. WWII was a recapitulation of the Atlantean conflict and had the effect of destroying materialistic values.

Yet since WWII, those forces have become ever more refined and sophisticated – as Humanity has reached the much-anticipated 2025 – the start of a new cycle ushering in the reappearance of the Mystery Schools and the Masters of Wisdom.

We are advised accordingly – and DK’s words as usual, are as fresh today as the time they were – even more relevant in this critical cycle:

“Disciples must now organise for a steady united effort. This must take the form of a closer cooperation between all groups and a standing together in a closer relationship, thus strengthening each other’s hands and, where possible, pooling resources.

It should result also in a united push forward of all spiritual and occult agencies and the carrying of the truth along all possible lines, down among the masses of men.

Just as in Atlantean days, spiritual forces were subordinated to the selfish desires of men, so today, they are being subordinated to the minds and the ambitions of men and the results will be profoundly evil. The world situation today demonstrates this.

For though material benefit and physical prosperity might eventually emerge from certain countries where great experiments are being undertaken, they will only exemplify the triumph of the form and will finally come to naught. [As may be the case today.]

Just as every human being struggles through in some one life to personality achievement so it is among the nations. Yet at the heart of every nation lies latent the mystical soul and eventually – after dire struggle and distress – all will be well.

Tendencies towards materialism and towards personality achievement must, under the larger plan and the will-to-good, be offset by a counter move of spiritual living and this must be the objective of all working disciples.

Let such working disciples see to it, therefore, that their love for all beings deepens and that the growth of their love comes through their tapping the group love which lies back of all world happenings. My brothers, when will the time come when the world will realise that the love aspect … is focussed through the inner subjective group of workers?

That love is now in the stage of anchoring itself physically through the new groups which are in process of forming all over the world.

These new groups are centres (or should be) of divine love, magnetic, constructive and pure.

See to it, therefore, that your conformity to the requirement is met in the measure of your physical strength, bearing ever in mind that you are equal to more effort and to greater strain than ever before”7

Master Rákóczi and the Annual October Council Meditation
The following passage is mentioned in the Libra newsletter every year, because of its increasing importance related to the imminent Externalisation of the Hierarchy after 2025:

“Every October and every March, the Master R. gathers together His council of helpers, the Masters and the senior initiates in the Ashrams of the third, the fifth and the seventh rays.

Though He is the Head of the third Ray of Aspect and is in control, therefore, of the two Rays of Attribute mentioned above, He does not Himself wield these forces, because He is One of the three Heads of the Hierarchy and His work cannot be confined to the activity of any one ray.

He works through the Ashrams of these rays, but He Himself works primarily in cooperation with the Christ and the Manu.”8

March-October corresponds to Aries-Libra and it stands to reason that Master R would preside over these meetings – in his role as the Lord of Civilisation and the “regent” of Europe and America.

Aries is the first impulse of the spiritual year, where the seeds of the annually modified Planetary Plan are sown. Polar-opposite sign Libra reveals how plentiful or not the harvest has been – whether the seeds, “fell on fertile or stony ground”.

This is why Libra is a sign intimately associated with karma – the consequences of thought/ideas sown in Aries, bear their bounty in Libra. Saturn, the lord of karma is exalted in Libra and it rules Libra hierarchically.

Saturn also rules the 3rd ray of active-intelligence – the only ray to pass through Libra –province of the third hierarchical department of The Mahachohan – another name for the Lord of Civilisation or Master R.

All the “rays of attribute” – 4, 5, 6, 7 – fall under the aegis of The Mahachohan. Within Hierarchical circles, Master R is known as “The Count”, alluding to his St. Germain “incarnation” immediately following Francis Rákóczi of Hungary – which led him to taking the “post” of Lord of Civilisation.

Previously as the fifth degree initiate Master R, he was the head of the seventh ray ashram. Hence He has a lot of experience in wielding these ray forces and working with nations in crisis. (For example, his work as Count St. Germain during the French Revolution.)

Since World War II, Master R’s work has been exceedingly difficult in bringing in the new Aquarian civilisation, working with the energy of the 7th ray of Order, Organisation or Ceremonial Magic. This ray is ruled by Uranus, which is also the soul ruler of Libra.

The 7th ray corresponds to the seventh physical plane, hence the, “power of the developed Libran to project the inner spiritual purpose or intended will into physical expression.”10 The following passage was written in the late 1940’s but may be even more appropriate today, as many “evil personalities” have once again taken control:

“The entire rhythm of international thinking has to be altered, and that constitutes a slow and arduous task; the evil personalities which, in every country, are responsible for the chaos and uncertainty, have eventually to be replaced by those who can work in cooperation with the rhythm of the seventh ray, and thus produce ordered beauty … two elements in every land and nation: those people who hold on to the bad old things of the past, and those who work for the extreme opposite of this point of view and for that which is new.

Under the influence of this 7th ray energy, balance has to be brought about and preserved, so that the “noble middle way” [Libra] of right action and of right human relations [Libra] can be safely trodden.

The task of the Master R. is, however, lightened by the fact that the 7th ray is now coming into activity and its potency is increasing year by year. His task is also aided by the intelligent work done by the Ashram of the English Master Who works consistently with the awakening and the arising masses.”11

Indeed, the power of this new 7th ray cycle that began in 1945, is becoming stronger and is starting to overcome the outgoing 6th ray. As “the regent of Europe”, Master R has the responsibility of overseeing its development and unity, hence bringing into focus the esoteric triangle that exists between two major planetary centres – London and Geneva, the headquarters of the European Union in Brussels and several other important European cities.
