Taurus 2019: Wesak, Shamballa & the New Group of World Servers. Sri Lanka. Fire of Notre Dame.
Taurus Keynote
“I see and when the Eye is opened, all is light.”
(Full Moon: May 18, 2019. 21.11 pm UT)
“The initiate sees the New Group of World Servers brought under the illuminating power of Taurus … the Hierarchy overshadows the New Group and just as the soul overshadows the personality of man … all the needed illumination and light upon all the coming problems [is] waiting to precipitate itself through the New Group of World Servers under the influence of Taurus, the nurturer of all illumination.”1

The Wesak Festival: Highlight of the Spiritual Year
“The Month of May is one of deepest significance to all who are affiliated with the Great White Lodge (as are all true esotericists), in that the Wesak Festival takes place and is of moment and deep import. The period is always one of prime interest and rare opportunity …”2
The importance of the first three spiritual festivals of the year – Aries, Taurus and Gemini – can never be emphasised enough. One must probe their significance however, to really experience them. Taurus marks the pinnacle of the spiritual year because it is when the spiritual Hierarchy on Earth meet. Taurus is also the sign that rules the New Group of World Servers (NGWS).
The Hierarchy or Masters of Wisdom gather to receive – literally, the “Word of God”, the new impulse that was released in Aries (this year in two Aries festivals – the “blue moon”) – and transmit the annually amended Planetary Plan to Humanity – via their various subjective groups of workers. All this is planned according to ray and astrological cycles, the constantly changing state of the world, and co-operation with Humanity who must be able to exercise their free will to determine its own destiny.
The opportunity at any full moon festival is to link and work subjectively in meditation with other co-workers and groups around the planet; this takes place over five days – 2.5 days either side of the exact full moon time, with the 24-hour period before the exact time the most potent period to make a contribution – if not the exact hour.
Taurus-Wesak is truly the highlight of the year because of the alignment that takes place between our most exalted planetary guides and humanity. The triangle of Buddha, Christ and Sanat Kumara (in the etheric and/or upon the physical plane), is linked in sacred ritual with the assembled Masters of Wisdom – in turn, aligned with their respective ray ashrams of human aspirants, disciples and initiates – poised and ready to anchor the new impulse issued in the previous sign of Aries.
Wesak is important because it is the only time of the year that the Buddha re-connects with Earth – almost liberated from his responsibilities here, but still serving an important role in this transition phase between the zodiacal ages and the rootraces. As the two main groups of Earth Chain and Moon Chain humanity further integrate, the Buddha’s role will be taken over by his Brother who holds The Office of the Christ, marking a momentous event in planetary history – that will have reverberations throughout the solar system.
Shamballa and the New Group of World Servers
Taurus is an unique period when the force of Shamballa is most present and potent. To many who seek spiritual knowledge, the whole idea of Shamballa may be a little abstract. The challenge for aspiring mystics is to penetrate into a deeper understanding of the true multi-dimensional structure of the world; this can be achieved through the study of the science of occultism, meditating and reflecting upon this wisdom until it becomes realisation within the heart.
In order to elaborate upon our function as aspirants or members of the New Group of World Servers (NGWS), it is necessary to go a little deeper into some esoteric facts about Shamballa, that mysterious centre “where the Will of God is known”. As in the triangle diagram above, the three major planetary centres are Shamballa, Hierarchy and Humanity, representing the crown, heart and throat centres respectively.
The New Group of World Servers (NGWS) is the bridging group that lies between Hierarchy and Humanity; it represents the ajna centre, the “bull’s eye”, where all is illumined and through which Sanat Kumara “views” the world. Shamballa is the home or “throne” of Sanat Kumara, the Lord of the World, the personality expression of our Planetary Logos (“God”) – that Being whose consciousness utilises all planetary kingdoms as its body of expression. This Being is our relatively local God, who has many relationships with other “Gods”, within and beyond our solar system. Our Planetary Logos communes with the other planets or Logoi, playing its part in the grand cosmic orchestra.
Planetary Centres |
||
Shamballa | Sanat Kumara. “The Seven Spirits before the Throne”. The Council Chamber of Shamballa. | Head centre Directing the “will of god”, the Planetary Plan and Purpose. |
Hierarchy | The seven Chohans of the Rays plus the Masters of Wisdom, their ashrams of initiates and disciples. | Heart centre Watching over and guiding Humanity with infinite love and patience. |
The New Group of World Servers |
All those dedicated souls, creative and awakening, who offer unselfish service to humanity. | Ajna centre The Eye of the Bull. The eye of Sanat Kumara. Illumination. |
Humanity | Civilisation. Advanced thinkers who determine human evolution through creative thought and free will. | Throat centre The collective mind of humanity. |
Hence, our planet receives the impulse of the greater Plan within the solar system, from our Sun, the Solar Logos, who in turn receives impression from Sirius, the path to which most of Humanity will eventually return. Note “logos” means ‘word’ – a Logos transmits a “word” that is a complex mantram containing its evolutionary purpose, sounded out for the duration of its incarnation. Hence,
Sirian Logos | Solar Logos | Planetary Logos |
The Star Sirius > | > Our Sun “Sol” > | > Earth |
The sacred words of these various Logoi are joined in a continuous stream by the energies of the seven rays, the zodiac signs and the planets, eventually transmitting all those frequencies through the various “agencies” of Shamballa, Hierarchy, the NGWS and Humanity; through the various planes and subplanes of consciousness; an hierarchical order – graded states of consciousness, hence the term “Hierarchy” to describe the Masters of Wisdom.
At all the full moon periods throughout the year, these forces find their way through the five planetary centres – all conditioned by ray and astrological forces: London, New York, Darjeeling, Tokyo and Geneva.
Sanat Kumara has gathered around him six other Kumaras or Buddhas (3 exoteric and 3 esoteric), who comprise the “Seven Spirits Before the Throne” or the Great Council of Shamballa, corresponding to the seven ray forces that pass through Earth – and the “seven sacred planets”. These Kumaras are sensitive and responsive to the various interlocking factors and relationships that exist between the other planets in the greater body of the solar system.
The Seven Kumaras are the only remaining ones of 108 Kumaras who visited this Earth many millions of years ago and whose fiery light illumined Humanity to wakefulness; this was the time of Individualisation in ancient Lemuria. It is said that Sanat Kumara will remain with us, “until the last weary pilgrim returns home”, until all of humanity have achieved liberation, hence his other name, “The Silent Watcher” or “The Great Sacrifice”.
“… Sanat Kumara … standing steadfastly by all those lives which are undergoing redemption, and by all those who are the agents of the redemptive process … These agents are the sons of men who will—each and all—demonstrate eventually “within the courts of Heaven” and at the place of initiation, the nature of their high calling …”3
Understanding Our Role as World Servers
“The New Group of World Servers is composed at this time of all those sensitive and consecrated servers of the race whose objective is world peace, who aim at the establishing of good will on earth as the basis for future living and world expansion. Originally, this group was composed of a handful of accepted disciples and consecrated aspirants.
Its ranks have been opened … to all those wo/men of good will who are working actively for real understanding, who are willing to sacrifice themselves for the helping of humanity, and who see no separating bar of any kind, but feel alike to … all races, nationalities and religions.”4
What are the pre-requisites to be a consciously functioning member of the NGWS?
- The heart centre must be awakened and linked with the heart centres of at least eight others.
- The head centre must be in process of awakening and able to, “hold the mind steady in the light”.
- Creative activity must be found along the lines of humanitarian, artistic, literary, philosophic or scientific lines.5
The Hierarchy regard Taurus as the most important astrological festival of the year – and, the New Group of World Servers is ruled by Taurus. This means that They invest a lot of hope in the NGWS, this intermediate planetary centre; it is in many respects, “the hope of humanity”:
“The group, therefore, which “serves as Aquarius indicates” is the Hierarchy; the group which is “speeded upon the upward Way”, is the New Group of World Servers. This group is ruled by Taurus, and to it that divine Taurian energy brings “illumination and the attainment of the vision.”
This group is, figuratively speaking, the “bull, rushing forward upon a straight line with its one eye fixed upon the goal and beaming light.” But what is that goal? It is not the goal of Self-illumination, for that lies far behind; it is the goal of providing a centre of light within the world of men and of holding up the vision to the sons of men.
Let this never be forgotten, and let the New Group of World Servers realise its mission and recognise the demands of humanity upon it. What are these demands? …
- To receive and transmit illumination from the kingdom of souls.
- To receive inspiration from the Hierarchy and go forth, consequently, to inspire.
- To hold the vision of the Plan before the eyes of men, for “where there is no vision, the people perish.”
- To act as an intermediate group between the Hierarchy and humanity, receiving light and power and then using both of these, under the inspiration of love, to build the new world of tomorrow.
- To toil in Pisces, illumined by Taurus and responsive in degree to the Aquarian impulse coming from the Hierarchy.”6
The first three spiritual festivals of the year are very potent and subjective in their effect. The initiating impulse pours through Aries, is consolidated upon in Taurus and distributed in Gemini …

The NGWS can be likened to Shiva’s white bull, Nandi, his vehicle of expression. Sanat Kumara embodies the Shiva force. (For more detail, see the Taurus 2012 Newsletter.)
Taurus is the Mother of Illumination. The mother is connected to the Moon which is exalted in Taurus and which receives the reflection of the solar rays at the full moon period of Wesak. Hence Taurus is the both the Mother of Form, and the Mother of Illumination, the “eye of the Bull” to which Christ made reference when he said, “I am the Light of the world … if thine eye be single thy whole body shall he full of light.” Hence also, the struggle between spirit and matter that is magnified in Taurus:
“Will this Taurian influence, increased as it is by the incoming Shamballa forces, produce the floodlight of illumination of which Taurus is the custodian, or will it simply foment desire, increase selfishness and bring humanity to the “fiery heights of self-interest” instead of to the mountain of vision and initiation?”7
This either/or scenario remains a constant for Humanity. When considering the three earth signs of the zodiac, Taurus is the custodian of the light of knowledge, Virgo is the guardian of the light of wisdom, whilst Capricorn is the light of initiation.8 Wesak is celebrated a month later by the Tibetans (in June), as they use a solar-lunar calendar. The esoteric Wesak festival is always in May, during the passage of the Sun through Taurus.
Cycles of the New Group of World Servers
(See here also for a recent history of the NGWS festivals.)
The NGWS has only been a recent development in recent centuries of planetary history, coming to “birth” in 1925 (between WWI & II), as an “emergence of a band of “conditioning souls”. The Hierarchy could long foresee planetary developments and hastened the NGWS’ entrance into incarnation.9
1925 was a momentous year, as it was not only a quarter-century meeting for the Great Council of Shamballa, but it also signalled the shift of the Hierarchy and their ashrams from the higher mental plane to the buddhic plane. Such a move had not occurred since the ancient days of Atlantis.
No doubt it was effected because of the evolution of human consciousness and the subsequent appearance of the next phase for Humanity, the Sixth Rootrace. The Planetary Plan is a great mystery and even the Master Djwhal Khul has said that it can only be known by the Masters as they work in group formation with one another. Hence, it is all that the NGWS can do, to catch a glimpse of what the Plan is:
“They alone are beginning to comprehend what it is. Suffice it for the rest of those in the Hierarchy—the initiates and disciples in their ordered ranks and various gradings—to co-operate with that immediate aspect of the Plan which they can grasp and which comes down to them through the inspired minds of their Directors at certain stated times, and in certain specific years. Such a year was 1933. Such another will be the year 1942. [1925, 1933, 1942 etc. – December 2019.]
At those times, when the Hierarchy meets in silent conclave, a part of God’s vision, and His formulation of that vision for the immediate present, is revealed for the next nine year cycle. They then, in perfect freedom and with full mutual cooperation, lay Their plans to bring about the desired objectives of the Heads of the Hierarchy, as They in Their turn cooperate with still higher Forces and Knowers.”10
Note the three phases of the NGWS cycles that are currently unfolding in the table below for 2019-2020:
2014-15 | Crisis/Consolidation | Crisis/Consolidation | Crisis/Consolidation |
2015-16 | Tension/Expansion
2016-17 | Emergence/Impact on Public Consciousness
2017-18 | Crisis/Consolidation | Tension/Expansion
2018-19 | Tension/Expansion
2019-20 | Emergence/Impact on Public Consciousness
2020-21 | Crisis/Consolidation | Emergence/Impact on Public Consciousness
2021-22 | Tension/Expansion
2022-23 | Emergence/Impact on Public Consciousness |
What then are our immediate objectives in service to Humanity? How can we raise our efficiency as the NGWS whilst holding an alignment with the Plan? Meditation, service and group co-operation are some of the main themes.
Sri Lanka: Where was the Outrage on Social Media?
Over 320 people were murdered on Easter Sunday 2019, in brutal, callous and coldly calculated bomb blasts on churches and hotels. And hardly a peep about it on social media. Plenty of sadness or outrage about Notre Dame, but it as if Sri Lanka is too far away for many Westerners – out of sight, out of mind. Of course, there is crisis-fatigue of having to continually absorb and process what is going on in the world. Easier to ignore it, but it is a global event and involves many casualties from Western nations.
Nothing has to be said or done about these events, that is everyone’s choice, especially because of the horror-numbing effect – or “feeding” it any oxygen. But one wonders if a greater indifference and lack of compassion is developing because of these events? Most likely.
If this had happened in Europe, USA or Australia, there would be a much greater reaction and outrage – such as the recent mosque massacre in New Zealand. But for the Sri Lanka tragedy, acknowledged by world leaders on mainstream media, but on social media, nada. The main reason here is probably because social media is a selfish platform in many ways.
One can make the argument that the spiritual priority is concentrating upon building the new emerging Aquarian paradigm, and let the old one destroy itself (“let the dead bury their dead”) – but acknowledgement of these events, tiresome and gruesome as they might be, also helps keep a sense of perspective, of not denying what is going on in the world.
And this is just one event, the horrors of Yemen and many other places around the world continually go unacknowledged, ignored or not even registered in consciousness. Is there much more of a need now – to shift from the personal or local bubble into the world bubble? It has now emerged that the attacks were in retaliation for the recent Christchurch massacre, many of whom were originally from India and Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka is known for its tolerance of four major religions – Christian, Hindu, Buddhist and Islam. When the author visited Sri Lanka in 1992, there was still trouble with the Tamil Tiger insurgent group and the ensuing civil war that had caused the loss of over 100,000 lives. Tamil Tigers were the inventors of the suicide vest and the recent events on Easter Sunday were all triggered by suicide bombers. The government is blaming the Easter bombings upon a radical Islamist group, National Thowheeth Jama’ath. (Isis is also claiming responsibility.) It seems that they have borrowed the modus operandi of the Hindu Tamil Tigers, or are working with one another.
This horoscope for the bombing event has Mars rising in Gemini, ruler of the Scorpio moon – reflecting the ferocity of violence inflicted upon those who were celebrating one of the most sacred festivals of the year; the cruel and ruthless motives of the perpetrators – puppets for the planetary dark forces that seek to sow fear and hatred, two of the “astral” heads of the “Scorpio hydra”. Gemini represents the multiplicity of the seven bombings. Venus had just entered Mars-ruled Aries and was conjunct Chiron and Mercury in Aries.
Sri Lanka Bombing Easter Sunday 2019.
The sun had just entered Taurus conjunct revolutionary Uranus. Scorpio co-ruler Pluto, was still in its embrace with Saturn and the south node in Capricorn, representing the destruction of old institutions. Jupiter was in its own sign of Sagittarius – representing religion, philosophy, higher education etc – also symbolising fundamentalism and a clinging to outworn ideologies. Although the TT were not named as responsible, their founder Velupillai Prabhakaran has sun and moon in the sometimes fanatical Sagittarius, the latter of which has been activated recently by transiting Jupiter.
Fire at Notre Dame: The Soul of Paris
In 2015, the author had the good fortune to visit Notre Dame with some Parisian friends, experiencing the beauty, grandeur and spiritual power of this extraordinary place. The soul of Paris is Virgo the Virgin – and Notre Dame (Our Lady) is its personification. The building celebrates the beauty of the second ray of Love-Wisdom, transmitted through Virgo – more powerfully than any other zodiac sign. It was built upon the site of an ancient temple of Isis, one of the three goddesses of Virgo – Eve, Isis and Mary.
In the event chart for the outbreak of the fire, the Moon was in Virgo, square to fiery Mars in Gemini. The time of the outbreak is also in doubt (most likely around 6.15 pm), which would give Virgo rising in the event chart as well. As the ferocious fire burned for the next four hours, the moon moved into an even closer square with Mars, reaching exactitude at 5 am the next day – when Notre Dame was a smouldering ruin. The Sun was in Mars-ruled Aries, but Mars’ placement in air sign Gemini seemed to fan the flames.
Notre Dame Fire (5 mins before first alarm sounded)
Pisces is also the soul of France, hence this profound Virgo-Pisces pair of opposites between the nation and its capital Paris. In some ways the utter destruction of the cathedral signals the end of the Piscean Age, even if the building is going to be restored. The fire is also however a symbol of renewal – Aries is a sign of death and rebirth. Given the fact that Notre Dame is not only the heart of France, but at the heart of Europe, its destruction may spark a sense of European unification during the current Brexit crisis. Whilst Paris is a Virgo soul, it has Capricorn as its personality ruler:
“The forces of crystallisation pour through Paris which is ruled by Capricorn in its personality and yet the soul of the French nation is nurtured in that great capital through the soul of the city, energised by Virgo and, forget not, that Virgo is the polar opposite of Pisces and the infant Christ in Virgo comes to full flower in Pisces. Here lies the hope of France.”11
Saturn is currently in its own sign of Capricorn conjunct Pluto, both square to the event chart Aries sun (in fact, a grand cross with Earth and the nodal axis) – right there is this destructive, yet renovative event, as the soul of Paris is scorched and its personality battered, reportedly to the point of shame for some Parisians. The “coincidence” of the fire with the beginning of Holy Week and Easter is quite obvious – this fire is unquestionably a major spiritual event, and many of us felt it deeply, before during and after.
There was an ominous foreboding about the fire – in a Catholic cathedral, that appears to herald the return of the Masters of Wisdom and the Christ. Indeed, the words of Christ come to mind, “I come not to bring peace, but a sword” – to shock people into a keener sense of values which the world has today largely lost. Within days of the fire, billions of Euros had been pledged for its rebuilding, in stark contrast to France’s severe funding shortages in many other areas of human need.
When all these cathedrals were built many centuries ago, despite their occult and spiritual significance, much of the population suffered acute poverty, whilst huge sums were invested in the buildings. There is a parallel today with the recent Gilets Jaunes demonstrations and coincidentally, President Macron was about to address a group of those people just before the fire.
“[The Catholic Church] An intensely materialistic attitude. The Church of Rome stands for great stone structures—cathedrals, churches, institutions, convents, monasteries. In order to build them, the policy down the centuries has been to drain the money out of the pockets of rich and poor alike. The Roman Catholic Church is a strictly capitalistic church. The money gathered into its coffers supports a powerful ecclesiastical hierarchy and provides for its many institutions and schools.”12
“The vast cathedrals and the pompous ceremonies of the orthodox are far removed from the humble way of the life of the Christ, the Master of all the Masters and the Teacher alike of angels and of men, and from the simplicity of His present way of life as He watches and waits for the return of His people to the simple way of spiritual realisation.”13
“How can the starving children of the world—and of Europe in particular [written WWII] —be salvaged when pleas go out from Popes and Bishops for money to build cathedrals and erect more churches when the existent churches now stand empty? How can light shine again in the minds of men when churchmen keep the people in a state of fear unless they accept the old theological interpretations and the old ways of approaching God.”14
“The churches—materialistic, hide-bound and submerged in their theological concepts, seeking political power or possessions, emphasising stone buildings and cathedrals whilst neglecting “the Temple of God, not made with hands, eternal in the heavens”—are occupied with the symbols and not with the reality.”15
Notre Dame cathedral is one of a group that were all dedicated to the Virgin Mary, Notre Dame. The physical locations of these cathedrals form a pattern that venerates the constellation of Virgo the Virgin. The tradition of the Knights Templar and the sacred geometry of these buildings are well known to students of The Mysteries.
Only recently, this author has written about the Catholic Church – the Notre Dame fire signifies:
- Primarily a great cleansing and purification of Paris and France that will lay the groundwork for real spiritual progress for itself and for Europe.
- That the Catholic Church is all but finished, along with the Age of Pisces. But, because it still spiritually serves millions around the world, it must go through a renewal, as part of its overall purification process, such as the recent convictions of widespread sex abuse.
The Bees of Notre Dame Survived!
No lives were lost in the great fire, including around 200,000 bees that had their habitat on the roof of the cathedral. Remarkably, their hives were not burnt and it appears that all bees somehow survived the raging inferno.
It is said that this kind of bee does not abandon its hive, instead gorging on honey and does not abandon the queen bee. Esoterically, it is said that bees come from Venus, ruler of the 5th ray – the soul ray of France. But of course, bees are known for their super-organisational skills, the 7th ray of Magic and Organisation:
“The beehive is found in Masonry as a reminder that in diligence and labor for a common good true happiness and prosperity are found. The bee is a symbol of wisdom, for as this tiny insect collects pollen from the flowers, so humanity may extract wisdom from the experiences of daily life.
The bee is sacred to the goddess Venus and, according to mystics, it is one of several forms of life which came to the earth from the planet Venus millions of years ago. This is why the origin of bees cannot be traced. The fact that bees are ruled by queens is one reason why this insect is considered a sacred feminine symbol.”16
May the soul of Paris rise forth from the ashes!
