Aquarius: Circulation of the Life Force
“There is nothing but electricity in manifestation, the “mystery of electricity” …  everything in Nature is electrical … life itself is electricity, but all that we have contacted and used today is that which is only physical and related to and inherent in the physical and etheric matter of all forms.”2

The “plasma of the planets” is the electro-magnetic current that connects all planetary bodies to one another, delineating a web of intricate relationships within the solar system’s body-corporate. The pulsating plasma of the poles is the subtle electrical fluid that surrounds the earth and is concentrated there.

Aquarius rules over electricity – from the gross to more subtle forms. The following passage is related to a 2018 discussion of Aquarius and the mysterious plasma or electro-magnetic vital fluid – the waters poured forth by the Aquarian Water-Bearer:

“Aquarius, we are told, governs the blood system and its circulation. By means of the blood, the life force is distributed throughout the entire human body. It is, therefore, symbolic of the task of the liberated Aquarian who dispenses spiritual life throughout the fourth kingdom in nature.3

The life force is anchored in the heart by the “life thread”. The heart is controlled by electrical contractions that pound out the mantra of 72 beats per minute, pumping the lifeforce-bearing blood around the body. Polar opposite Leo, is the ruler of the heart centre and the physical heart – hence the vitality and power of the solar life in that sign:

“There is a thread of energy, which we call the life or spirit aspect, anchored in the heart. It uses the blood stream, as is well known, as its distributing agency and, through the medium of the blood, life-energy carries regenerating power and coordinating energy to all the physical organisms and keeps the body “whole.””4

This mysterious life thread originates in the monad (the essential source for every human) – and is anchored in the heart, the seat of life. Likewise, the consciousness thread of the three-fold antahkarana derives from the soul and is anchored in the head, the seat of consciousness. A third thread of creative activity – is constructed by each individual and is anchored eventually in the throat centre – a synthesis of the other two threads.

Aquarius rules the “physical permanent atom” where is stored the sum of experiences in the physical body for all incarnations. The soul draws upon this “storage” atom along with the mental and astral permanent atoms when, after conception and during gestation – it begins building the new personality vehicles in preparation for the next incarnation. The etheric body is closely connected to the bloodstream – both of which are related to Aquarius:

“Aquarius … is … connected with the physical permanent atom which is, as you know, upon the etheric level. It is this individual web which is the medium of relationship to the whole. The universal consciousness of Aquarius becomes expressive just in so far as the individual etheric body is in conscious relation with the etheric body of humanity, the solar system and—of course—the planet.”5

Hence, the wavy lines glyph of Aquarius signifies the blood of life, the electrical plasma in the water-bearer’s urn – a symbol of the heart brimming with light and love.

The blood stream is governed by Neptune – the moon is hierarchical ruler of Aquarius and “veils” Neptune. Hence, the universal consciousness of Aquarius – a culminating sign for humanity. These three systems are related to one another: Blood circulation, the nervous system and the etheric body:

1. The Moon veiling Vulcan, rules the etheric vehicle – from the circulatory angle.
2. Venus rules the nervous system.
3. Neptune rules the blood stream.
4. Saturn rules the endocrine system.6

The seven endocrine glands are an externalisation of the seven etheric chakras, releasing hormones and chemicals into the bloodstream, conditioning human life physiologically and psychologically. The etheric body is the inner structure upon which the physical body is built.

The intricate etheric network of nadis duplicates the entire nervous system, which along with the bloodstream, constitutes the life force in the human mechanism. Hence, the sequence of energy flow is through:

1. Etheric body centres.
2. Endocrine glands.
3. Nervous system and nadis.
4. Bloodstream – “the blood is the life”.

Aquarius-Leo: Waters of Life and Desire
Aquarius is  dual sign of mind-science and the emotions – connected with water, symbolised by its glyph of wavy lines – electricity, plasma or water.  The Water-Bearer, the world server with a pitcher upon her shoulders, ready to pour forth in service the waters of life. Water symbolises the feeling nature, the main body of reception for the intuitive awareness that pours down from the buddhic plane – like a waterfall:

“Astral energies emanating from the new sign of the zodiac into which we are now entering, the sign Aquarius. This sign, that of the water-carrier, is a living sign and an emotional sign. It will (through the effect of its potent force) stimulate … astral bodies … into a new coherency, into a brotherhood of humanity which will ignore all racial and national differences and will carry the life … forward into synthesis and unity.

This means a tide of unifying life of such power that one cannot now vision it, but which—in a thousand years—will have welded all mankind into a perfect brotherhood. Its emotional effect will be to “purify” the astral bodies … so that the material world ceases to hold such potent allure, and may in its later stages bring about a state of exaggeration as potent in the line of sentiency, as that which we have undergone in the line of materiality!”7

Only a thousand years – not long to wait in the greater scheme of things! This will occur half-way through the age of Aquarius, in the Mercury-ruled decanate. Mercury embodies in its highest expression – the buddhic principle.

The purification of Humanity’s astral body will be a great revolution in consciousness, recalling the eleventh Aquarian labour of Hercules where he diverts a mighty river to cleanse the accumulated filth of the Augean stables. When that inner purification occurs, the world will be free from pollution upon the physical plane.

When the polar opposite sign of Aquarius is considered – Leo, traditionally a fire sign, symbolising the  mind, it also has a potent emotional component that is the basis of Leonine passion – and its “hearty” compassion. Leo rules the astral permanent atom, where is stored the sum of emotional experiences in all incarnations:

“Leo—is connected with the astral permanent atom, for the reason that desire or the power to go forth and occultly touch that which is desired is the basis of all sense of awareness or responsiveness and the underlying cause of progress or evolutionary movement forward; it is the keynote of the [wo]man who has achieved that true “self-centred” attitude which makes him an individual.

Later, as responsiveness grows and the world of small affairs is converted into the world of ever larger values and reality, the desires change into aspiration and finally into spiritual will, purpose and intent.”8

This “self-centred attitude” of Leo repolarises toward upliftment of the whole, symbolised by Aquarius – the World Server who, “becomes a carrier of the water of life to humanity.”

Saturn-Jupiter in Aquarius: A Peek into the Future (Part II)
Part 1 of this theme is in the newsletter for Capricorn 2020, finishing with this sentence: “This new airy trigon spans the last part of the cuspal period between the zodiac ages, ushering our civilisation into the Age of Aquarius proper.”

On December 20, 2020 (20-20-20), during and following the era of several planets passing through Capricorn, the conjunction of Saturn-Jupiter in Aquarius offers a glimpse of the Age of Aquarius on the immediate horizon. Saturn rules the first decanate of Aquarius – and Jupiter is that sign’s esoteric ruler, hence this conjunction has much to offer. First, let us consider Saturn:

“Saturn is the planet of discipleship and of opportunity; it is exceedingly active today, presenting to the world disciple those difficult situations and crises which will involve free choice, discriminative pioneering, wise response and correct decision, thus bringing about the destruction of that which hinders – without the relinquishing of any true values of which humanity may be aware.

The individual disciple has always been faced with these conditioning and releasing circumstances, and today humanity itself is in the same position. We stand at the gateway of the new world, of the new age and its new civilizations, ideals and culture.”9

Saturn is the planet of discipleship – as in the discipline of the lower self, via the mind/throat centre that Saturn rules. Saturn is the Lord of Karma who presents those “difficult conditions and crises”. Saturn also works in an Plutonic-destroyer mode – “bringing about destruction of that which hinders … [offering] “opportunity and … a choice to bring about the needed changes … to destroy that which holds back the free expression of the soul.”10

The three zodiacal crosses rule Humanity in divisions of developed consciousness. From left to right, the mutable cross of unawakened humanity, the fixed cross of awakening and awakened humanity, and the cardinal cross of liberation. Whichever of these crosses is prominent in the personal birth chart, is not necessarily related to the generic cross described above. For instance, one might be a Gemini sun or Sagittarius rising, but on the fixed cross of evolution. Or, one might be Scorpio rising and on the fixed cross, accentuating that position. Most of those who are consciously on the spiritual path today, from all signs of the zodiac – are at one or other positions upon the generic fixed cross.

This “new world” is the Age of Aquarius – a sign of the fixed cross that a large proportion of Humanity is “mounting” en masse, after treading the way of the mutable cross for countless aeons. Saturn will condition the first 720 years of this first decanate of Aquarius from 2,117 onward (till 2,837), but its influence is already available for those sensitive enough to respond:

“Humanity is beginning to mount the Fixed Cross of the disciple, thus reversing its progress upon the circle of the Zodiac. Humanity—as a whole and owing to the large proportion of aspirants and thinking idealists—is entering Aquarius, via the open door of Saturn.”11

Jupiter is the esoteric ruler of Aquarius, symbolising the waters of Love-Wisdom. The world server of Aquarius pours forth from the urn held upon the shoulder. There is some Saturn symbolism here, in the saying, “to shoulder responsibility” – bearing in mind that Saturn rules the first decanate of Aquarius. (Saturn was also the ruler of Aquarius before Uranus was discovered.)

Jupiter’s  rulership provides a deeper understanding of Aquarius with its seemingly conflicting attributes – scientist, inventor, technology, revolutionary, occultist (Uranus rulership), versus the philanthropist, humanitarian, social worker, healer and teacher (Jupiter). Jupiter and Uranus as rulers of Aquarius are:

“Planets of beneficent consummation. The second ray of love and the seventh ray which fuses spirit and matter “to the ultimate glory” of the solar Logos – are in the fullest eventual cooperation.”12 Jupiter as ruler of Aquarius is, “The fusion of heart and mind, which is the subjective purpose of manifestation.”13

Hence, on 20-12-20, the formidable combination of these planets in the first degree of Aquarius (for the first time in 800 years) – will be continuing and consolidating the current 2020 Saturn-Pluto initiated Renaissance, on its 500-year cycle.

The Saturn-Jupiter cycle was prominent at the birth of Jesus, who was overshadowed by The Christ in that life. The Christ is due to return among Humanity once more, some time after 2025, to complete the work started some 2,000 years ago in ancient Palestine:

“The sign of the Messiah’s coming is the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in the sign Pisces … Kepler [astronomer] states as a positive fact that at the moment of the Incarnation (of Christ) all the planets were in conjunction in the sign Pisces … the constellation of the Messiah.”14

That conjunction was in 7 BC, one of the speculated years among astrologers for the birth of Jesus. A co-worker writes,

“Can we infer from these patterns and apply the higher model in coordination that the sign of the Messiah in Aquarius may occur when Saturn and Jupiter are in conjunction in Aquarius?”15

Most probably – but it could be much later than observers surmise or hope for. The Hierarchy’s decision during the great 2025 conclave about the timing of Their externalisation, is subject to where Humanity is at that time – and the decisions Humanity has made of its own free will.

Given the fact that Hierarchy will meet at the 2025 conclave to decide a date to externalise, many arrangements must be made. The externalising of many of the Master’s ashrams will occur, to pave the way in public life for the appearance of various Masters, let alone the final culmination – the Christ who will take the rare option of incarnating in a physical form again:

“The Christ has not yet decided what type of physical vehicle He will employ should He take physical form and work definitely upon the physical plane. He waits to see what nation or group of nations do the most work, and the most convincing work, in preparation for His reappearance.”16

Interesting statement, what nations come to mind? The Masters have not been present physically or “permanently” among Humanity since the ancient days of Atlantis, except for the odd period in history for a brief time, such as during the lives of the Buddha and Christ, the European Renaissance etc. Hence, although there is “no time to lose”, there is also no rush – careful planning must precede the Externalisation.

Those members of the esoteric portion of world servers, who are currently incarnate in the latter part of their lives, will need time to finish this life and reincarnate again. There are of course, many on the other side of the veil ready to, or who are reincarnating now – who will be pioneering a momentum of preparation.

Astrological and ray cycles must also be taken into consideration – and the beginning of the “airy trigon” (the three air signs) in 2020 is no exception. The first conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius will be on December 20, 2020 – just hours before the solstice.

The next conjunction of these planets in an air sign will be in Libra in 2040; the following conjunction in 2060 will be in Gemini. Then a new airy trigon will begin in 2080, with Saturn and Jupiter conjunct in Aquarius again; 2100 in Libra and 2120 in Gemini.

Therefore, taking into consideration all these factors, the Externalisation of the Hierarchy might be closer to 2080 and 2100 – than 2025. The sun precesses astronomically into the first degree of Aquarius in 2,117 – and the last Saturn-Jupiter conjunction in Aquarius before that date occurs in 2080, 55 years after 2025. The conjunction is very close to the Aries full moon festival of 2080, and sees Aquarius co-ruler Uranus, also in this sign, conjunct Jupiter and Saturn – a most auspicious date!

Aquarius and the Pole Star
2,080 and 2,117 are both important dates – and standing between these two dates is March 24, 2100 – when the north pole star Polaris, will align most closely with Earth’s north celestial pole:

“Polaris—The Star of Direction—governing Shamballa. Esoterically speaking, the Pole Star is regarded as the “star of re-orientation” whereby the art of “refacing and recovering that which is lost” is developed … A further factor in cyclic computation lies in the effect of … The Pole Star, especially where our planet is concerned.”17

Energy from the pole star is transmitted through the gateway of Aquarius, facilitating the return of the Hierarchy and the onset of the Aquarian cycle proper:

“The influence which emanates from the Pole Star … such a potent factor in our solar system, reaches our planet via the sign Aquarius. The reasons will be noted if the student bears in mind the significance of water as a symbol of the emotions, which are but a lower manifestation of love-desire.

Aquarius is a force centre from which the adept draws the “water of life” and carries it to the multitude. This force from the Pole Star, via Aquarius, is of special power at this time and the day of opportunity is therefore great. It is one of the agencies which make the coming of the Great Lord a possibility.”18

The dates of 2080 and 2100 were mentioned as an ideal time astrologically for the Externalisation of the Hierarchy. Should those dates not transpire because of a delay through Humanity’s choosing, then it will only be a matter of one or two centuries:

“Much of the success in the coming momentous years is dependent upon the work done by all who may be affiliated (even slightly) with the New Group of World Servers … the prophesied end is inevitable … the margin of difference will also be only between one hundred and three hundred years. The impulse towards synthesis is now too strong to be long delayed.”19

Hence, despite misgivings about the seemingly insurmountable problems this planet faces today, the Hierarchy are confident that the Planetary Plan will eventually proceed! In summary, the following table has been created to track these cycles:

Aquarius and Group Co-Operation
“In Aquarius, the polar opposite of Leo and its sign of consummation, [s]he becomes outgoing; there is no centre or circle of circumscribed influence but only two outgoing lines of energy, pouring … into the world … The self-conscious individual in Leo becomes the conscious server in Aquarius, and this is well expressed for us in the symbols of these two signs. The Aquarian is consecrated to group service and to the welfare of humanity.”20

Individualism versus collectivism. An ecology professor has spelt out the age of Aquarius i academic terms …

“When people have a broader sense of group identity they tend to be more likely to engage in pro-environmental behaviours, such as reducing their carbon emissions, buying sustainably and volunteering. A new age of collectivism seems to be dawning – and not a moment too soon.”21

Only when a person becomes a world server and is developed in group consciousness, can the planetary purpose begin to demonstrate. This is beginning to happen today for the first time in planetary history and befits the revolutionary theme of Aquarius:

“All world servers are decentralised workers and are governed by the need and the reactions of the mass or group. That is one of the reasons why, when in training, disciples are absorbed into a Master’s group which is integrally a collection of individuals who are imbued with the group idea and are learning increasingly to react to it.”22

The Master’s group is one of the 49 inner ashrams to which all human souls eventually gravitate – according to soul ray. These seven ray soul groups with their seven subsidiary ray colourings, all reside with the One Ashram of the Christ, serving the Planetary Plan and Purpose in every conceivable area of human endeavour.

“Helena Roerich was a Russian theosophist, writer, and public figure. In the early 20th century, she created, in cooperation with the Teachers of the East, a philosophic teaching of Living Ethics (“Agni Yoga”). She was an organizer and participant of cultural activity in the U.S., conducted under the guidance of her husband, Nicholas Roerich.

Along with her husband, she took part in expeditions of hard-to-reach and little-investigated regions of Central Asia. She was an Honorary President-Founder of the Institute of Himalayan Studies “Urusvati” in India and co-author of the idea of the International Treaty for Protection of Artistic and Scientific Institutions and Historical Monuments (Roerich Pact). She translated two volumes of the Secret Doctrine of H. P. Blavatsky, and also selected Mahatma’s Letters (Cup of the East), from English to Russian.”23

The foregoing is a mere glimpse of some of Helena Roerich’s achievements. HR’s spiritual name was Urusvati, which means the Morning Star – or Venus. (Venus-Lucifer, in Latin, “light-bringer”). Venus is the ruler of the fifth ray of science/knowledge and the only ray to pass through Aquarius in this cycle.

The appearance of Venus at every day’s dawn carries much beauty and mystery about the evolution of our precious planet, regarded esoterically as the “lower self” of Venus. Venus is a “sacred planet” whilst Earth is a “non-sacred planet” – evolving toward the status of Venus and the other sacred planets in the solar system. Some words about Urusvati from the book Agni Yoga, transmitted by her Master Morya:

“Only to Urusvati can I entrust the Teaching, without fear that it will be distorted or diminished. Only centuries-long experience provides the needed degree of devotion together with the understanding of the essence.”24

And, to give an idea of HR’s extraordinary sensitivity and development,

“Today Urusvati heard the music of the spheres, the rhythm that strengthens the realization of evolution. It is not the theme precisely, but the rhythm that is the essence of the music of the spheres. And it is the degree of purity of the sounds that determines the quality of the interplanetary conduit. These sounds are heard on many far-off worlds, but on Earth they can be heard only at high altitudes, and only by those who have a musical ear.”25

Helena Roerich transmitted the Agni Yoga teachings in a series of books in the earlier half of last century. (All of the books can be found online or bought.) Ideally, an astrological biography should be written for all messengers like HR – to illustrate the higher psychic sensitivity that led them to being chosen by the Master for the role of amanuensis – as well as their completely human, and hence imperfect personalities!

In Esoteric Astrology, the personality is represented by the sun sign and the soul expression by the rising sign. HR was an Aquarian personality, hence very receptive to fresh frequencies streaming in from this sign – on its imminent approach for the next 2,000 year cycle:

Aquarius also rules the third degree initiation generically – whether HR reached that exalted stage in that life is possible, though unknown to the author. (Initiations can be taken in various signs.) Aquarians are noted for their originality, innovation and inventiveness, humanitarian and philanthropic attitudes, plus an interest in anything “alternative”. Aquarius is also about science and technology, the revolutionary and rebel.

As mentioned earlier, these seemingly disparate themes can be explained by the rulers of Aquarius – Uranus and Jupiter. Uranus covers the domain of the scientific mind (exoteric and esoteric), whilst Jupiter’s jurisdiction is the humanitarian and healer. Yet both planets cross over into one another’s domain.

The motivation for the revolutionary stems from the Uranus-Aquarian force that seeks to reform the status quo of the previous sign Capricorn (the “urge to better conditions”) – plus the humanitarian influence of the Love-Wisdom planet/ray – Jupiter. Some further definitions of Uranus and Jupiter:

“Uranus—Occult consciousness or that intelligent, fusing condition which produces the scientific at-one-ment of the two factors, higher and lower self, through the intelligent use of the mind … Uranus gives innate spontaneous activity and this produces evolutionary development—both natural and spiritual. It is the urge to better conditions … Uranus—Ray Seven—The will to be and to know simultaneously on all planes of manifestation.

Jolly giant Jupiter!

Jupiter gives an inherent tendency to fusion which nothing can arrest. The achievement of ultimate synthesis is inevitable, and this Jupiter promotes … Jupiter—Ray Two—The fusion of heart and mind, which is the subjective purpose of manifestation. This is brought about through the third and the seventh ray activity on the exoteric wheel.”27

Roerich had both rulers aspecting her sun – a Jupiter conjunction, and Uranus widely opposing from Virgo. Sun-Jupiter gives a generous expression of the heart, and in fact, both bodies rule the heart chakra. HR also had Venus exalted in Pisces (discussed in more detail in the next section), which complements this theme of compassion alloyed with mind.

Helena Roerich has been assigned by some students a second ray personality – that would have found a more than adequate expression through her Sun-Jupiter conjunction in Aquarius. She was a lover and a teacher of the Wisdom. Likewise, as the disciple of Master Morya’s ashram, she was a first ray soul that expressed potently through first ray Aries rising.

Sun-Jupiter was square to Pluto, planet of power and transformation, and dispositor of HR’s Scorpio Moon. Sun square Pluto people have lessons to learn around the right use of power and control, particularly if upon the first ray line, like HR. As the sun represents the personality, then its square to Pluto was the challenge to integrate that force into the mental body portion of the three-fold personality:

“Pluto … governs however the death or cessation of old ideas and emotions, and its influence is therefore largely cerebral and in that you have the clue to its late discovery. Mankind is only on the verge of becoming mental. Its effects are felt first in the mental body.”28

Positively, this Sun square Pluto aspect would have given her a potency in helping to break down and help destroy aspects of crystallised personality represented by the sun sign – continuous self-transformation. Negatively, a dominating and ruthless personality. The Sun-Pluto square is also part of a “grand square” or cross, with the Moon in Scorpio and the Earth in Leo – more on this later.

The birth time of Helena Roerich is confirmed, yielding Aries rising – a promoter of pioneering teachings of the Ageless Wisdom. Aries is a sign of leadership and new ideas precipitating into human consciousness; it is an often impulsive sign ruled by Mars, ruler of the solar plexus chakra, seat of the astral body.

HR’s Mars was well placed – exalted in Capricorn, conjunct the midheaven (career) and, the most elevated planet in the horoscope, giving it great power. (There is a book by HR called The Leader. Another biography, Helena Roerich: Living Ethics and the Teaching for a New Epoch.)

Of course, every planetary energy has a higher and lower expression. In this case, higher Mars is striving toward the mountain top of initiation in Capricorn, as a somewhat formidable figure in her culture. Mars in Capricorn can create a struggle between the lower material inclinations and the higher spiritual aspirations. Negatively, Mars in this position can be prideful and condescending, seeking social status and prestige – a possible factor for Roerich – raised within the cultural conditioning of Russian aristocracy.

Mars is square to Saturn in Aries, an aspect that can create a tough, unyielding or unforgiving nature. Mars and Saturn are also in mutual reception – Mars tenants the sign of Capricorn ruled by Saturn, whilst Saturn is placed in Aries ruled by Mars. Mutual reception planets strengthen one another and take on some of each other’s attributes.

Mars is also the ruler of HR’s moon in Scorpio, hence this square aspect represented a large cross for her to bear in that lifetime. Saturn is the mind and its square to Mars is the challenge control of the astral body by the mind – much frustration can come from such an aspect. With Saturn square to Mars (especially in Capricorn on the midheaven), the individual can be very competitive, but it also brings courage and stamina:

Mars.

“Once this aspect’s tendency to explode is mastered, it can be extremely transformational and purifying. The person is able to tame wild behaviour, because of its very authoritarian energy. Mars square Saturn has the power of a steam roller … once active will flatten all opposition to a pulp … once aroused Mars/Saturn can fly into the most terrific rages. It’s as if all the expressed hurts, angers and irritations get saved up … Sometimes they will deliberately target a weaker individual or group, guaranteed to never hit back.

It is very easy for Mars/Saturn to pick on a scapegoat to whom they can dump all their hangups onto … Saturn delays retaliation, so it is often the case that it will be a very tiny straw that finally breaks the camel’s back. Mars is also sex and passion, so Saturn here can suppress that too. The result is often very steamy, like the workings of a pressure cooker. Push Mars down with any force and of course it is going to be explosive the moment it releases itself. The natives will either super-sex-charged or celibate.”29

The esoteric ruler of HR’s Aries soul purpose is Mercury the Messenger – also placed in Aquarius; it is very intuitive in this sign and square to psychically sensitive Neptune, the co-ruler of the solar plexus. The square aspect between these two planets, lies at the heart of HR’s amanuensis skills – but also her imperfections – allowing fear or paranoia to cloud thinking, perhaps to even fall prey to mediumism.

Ironically, HR railed against mediumism but it seems that she projected this fear upon others such as Alice and Foster Bailey, C.W. Leadbeater etc. (As revealed in her letters about those individuals.) However, when HR’s Aries rising and Aquarian personality are considered together:

“Aries, the Inaugurator, is rendered effective on the Earth through the organising potency of Uranus. Aries is the source, the beginning and the initiator of the New Age and its coming civilisations, of the appearance of the kingdom of God on earth and also of the individual initiate into the Mysteries. Aquarius is the present Determiner of the future. That which is now initiated in Aries will become manifested in Aquarius, and Libra will enforce the achievement of a point of balance or (esoterically speaking) of the “escape from opposing forces at the midway point between the source and the goal.””30

HR’s moon was in Scorpio, as her portrait suggests in, Messenger of Beauty: The Life and Visionary Art of Nicholas Roerich. (Sun, moon and rising sign all contribute to physical appearance.) This is an important consideration, as the Scorpio moon closely opposes Scorpio ruler – Pluto in Taurus.

This Moon-Pluto opposition creates a grand cross with Sun-Jupiter in Aquarius/Earth in Leo – personality integration challenges around power or the lower will (Pluto) – first ray energy of which the first ray Chohan – Master Morya is an exponent. Hence, sun and moon are both aspected to Pluto – discovered during her lifetime in 1930, at the age of 51.

The combination of sun square Pluto, with a Scorpio moon – creates a double “signature” on these themes, that can verge on paranoia. The Master has to take into account all these personality foibles when considering using any messenger – yet He did say, “Only to Urusvati can I entrust the Teaching.”

Scorpio Moon can have  problems with power, spite, revenge, jealousy, possessiveness and hatred. All the “heads of the hydra” – the scorpion with a sting in its tail; some of the most negative emotions are amplified in the “spiritually advanced” who are wrestling with the Dweller on the Threshold.

The Moon is the unconscious part of an horoscope – the source of much inner and outer conflict. The moon is also the co-ruler of the fourth ray of Harmony through Conflict, the only ray to pass through Scorpio – and most likely a ray in HR’s ray structure – mind/personality perhaps.

The Scorpio moon widely squares fourth ray ruler Mercury in Aquarius, with regard to thought processes getting tangled with an intensely emotional nature – hence compounding the challenge of Mercury’s existing square to Neptune.

Like other advanced teachers such as Krishnamurti, Helena Roerich had her human imperfections, yet the overall thrust and achievement of her life was triumphant – leaving a long lasting legacy for which students of The Wisdom will be eternally grateful.

Venus in Pisces Esoterically Considered
“Venus is exalted in Pisces and at the end of the greater cycle, the Sons of God who are the Sons of Mind are raised up into glory through experience and crucifixion because they have learned to love and truly reason.”31

Venus has just entered Pisces and will remain there for three weeks (till Feb.7), bringing its unique flavour of unconditional love-wisdom, compassion, creativity and forgiveness to the world. There is however, a whole other dimension to Venus – the ruler of the fifth ray of mind, knowledge, science. Esoteric astrology students often find it difficult to reconcile this perspective with the traditional view of Venus – goddess of love, beauty, sex and relationships.

One way to understand Venus in this respect, is through its esoteric rulership of another mutable sign Gemini – a major sign of relationships in general, through right communication. As esoteric ruler of this sign, Venus balances the pairs of opposites upon the mental plane, creating harmony and beauty. This balance and blending of opposites precipitates onto the astral plane where Venus expresses its most commonly known attributes.

The reason is because most of Humanity is astrally polarised, even though it has reached a critical mass of lower mind development. A critical mass is the minimum amount of human souls needed that have brought our Fifth Rootrace to its apotheosis of mental development.

The Science of Esoteric Astrology takes into consideration that everyone is at different stages of soul evolution, responding in different ways to the planets and signs according to their developed consciousness. (As per the previous diagram on the crosses.) There are at least two expressions of signs and planets, even three – lower, intermediate and higher. This fact explains why an individual may not connect with a reading given by one astrologer, but will with another. The Tibetan states,

“Esoterically, the reason that Venus is exalted in Pisces is connected with the relation of Pisces to the sign Gemini, of which Venus is the esoteric ruler, and also in relation to the fact that Venus is the Earth’s alter ego and is closely related to the human kingdom.”32

Indeed, Venus is related powerfully to three of the four signs of the mutable cross and is esoterically regarded as the “higher self” to Earth – our “sister planet”. Venus has reached the stage of development as a “sacred planet”, whereas our “non-sacred” Earth is still reaching toward that goal; this concerns the inextricably entwined development of the dual attributes of mind and heart, illustrated by Venus in Virgo, Pisces’ polar opposite:

“Venus, pure love-wisdom, falls into generation in this sign and occultly “descends to earth” and stands for the gift of mind and of divinity, embodied in the Son of Mind and thus for the descent of the Christ principle into generation or into matter. Virgo and Venus are together two aspects of intelligence.” (Esoteric Astrology, Alice A. Bailey. p.281.)

Like any entity, a human, a city, a nation – the planets have soul and personality expressions; Venus is obviously a “love-wisdom personality” with a “fifth ray soul”. A “son of mind” is a human soul and the “Christ principle” is the love-wisdom of the Jupiter-ruled second ray.

When the second and fifth rays are viewed on the colour wheel, they are opposite one another – with the second ray indigo blue opposite the fifth ray orange. This is another profound symbol of the earlier noted duality of heart and mind. Esoteric Astrology helps us to understand the nature of duality and its eventual synthesis into unity – particularly when considering a sign as part of a cross of four signs. The Tibetan continues his commentary on Venus in Pisces, bearing in mind that the second ray of Love-Wisdom finds a direct expression through the three mutable sign of Pisces-Virgo and Gemini:

“The Fishes in Pisces are bound together, as we have seen, and this is a symbol of the captivity of the soul in form, prior to the experience upon the Fixed Cross. The Twins in Gemini are symbols of the same basic duality, but the experience of the many changing incarnations has done its work, and the Band (uniting the two fishes) is in process of dissolution, for part of the work of Pluto is to “cut the thread which binds the two opposing lives together.” It is the task of Venus to “reunite the severed lives but with no binding thread.”33

A most profound description featuring Pluto the destroyer, esoteric ruler of Pisces. Pluto was “discovered” in 1930 at the end of the Age of Pisces and between the two world wars that represented the destruction of that age. A developed Piscean uses this Pluto energy in a destructive/constructive way, not unlike another water sign Scorpio, with its Pluto co-rulership. Note that Venus “reunites the severed lives” in Pisces, similar to how it balances the pairs of opposites in Gemini. The passage continues,

Crucifixion (Gabriel Metsu 1660’s.) During the eclipse, when “darkness fell over the land”.

“Therefore, Venus is exalted in Pisces and at the end of the greater cycle, the Sons of God who are the Sons of Mind are raised up into glory through experience and crucifixion because they have learned to love and truly reason. The influence of Pisces, Gemini and Virgo is eventually fused and blended.”34

Pisces is a sign of Liberation, of which the “crucifixion initiation” is symbolic – the exalted fourth degree, which the Master Jesus demonstrated in that life, as an Avatar of the Piscean Age. Now that this Piscean cycle has concluded 2,000 years later – only a handful of souls may have equalled that strenuous effort. Venus in Pisces is the “11th commandment”: “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” (John 13:34.)

When considering the crucifixion as depicted in various paintings during an eclipse: “Darkness fell over all the land, or all the world from around noon until 3 o’clock. Immediately after the death of Jesus, “the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom”.”35 This “curtain” is also translated as, “the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom”:

“A “tearing asunder” that … always precedes initiation and illumination – and which is testified to by all the mystics and initiates. This is in reality that which produces the destruction of the veil of illusion … It precedes the dark night of the soul wherein the man stands pendant between heaven and earth and then cries: “Where is the one God who has forsaken me?”36

As the Aquarian cycle unfolds for the next two milleniums, the Science of Initiation (a sub-science of Esoteric Astrology), will find its rightful place – and group initiation will be the norm. Humanity will reach unprecedented heights of spiritual development in the Aquarian Age, but before then it has much work to do – right here, right now!

Gates of Hell (William Blake)

Saturn-Pluto: Opening the Gates of Hell        
The gates of hell are traditionally seen as the entrance into Pluto’s underworld, often found in regions of unusual geological activity, particularly sulphurous volcanic areas, lakes, caves or mountains. Spiritually speaking, the gates of hell are each individual’s entrance into their own “underworld” or subconcious.

Sometimes these nefarious regions for Humanity as a whole, can be contacted, seen and experienced in dreams. To put it mildly, it is not a place where anyone might want to visit – a realm of grotesque human suffering and pain. Not unlike that which has been depicted by artists through the centuries, although many are tinged with terrifying Christian undertones of being “damned in hell”. Contacting “hell” may arise from the “exorcism” of one’s own demons, or experienced through “guided education” in the “wisdom night school” – attended during the hours of sleep.

The underworld is typically called “hell” – the lower subplanes of the astral plane that Humanity has created – just as it has created “heaven” on the upper sub-planes of the astral plane. Both are illusory or maya – or “unreal” – but they are also “real”.

The underworld is where the Dweller on the Threshold lurks or “dwells” – the sum total of unresolved issues that souls have carried from lifetime to lifetime. There is an individual dweller, a group dweller, a national dweller and a global dweller.

The Way of Light can only be opened up by planetary purging and purification. The pollution of rubbish, toxic air and water across the planet – is an outer symbol of the astral hell that Humanity has created for itself, through excessive desire or greed. The true outer clean-up of the environment (or the Aquarian cleansing of the Augean Stables), will only be completed when the inner environment has been purified. And for that, Humanity has a long way to go!

All “dweller fellas” are the sum total of divergence from spiritual law – misplaced or “evil” desires, wrong choices, mistakes and weaknesses that have found distorted or perverse expression over many lifetimes – physically, emotionally or mentally; it is not just the astral plane involved – yet the astral is the main realm of “hell” for Humanity.

All of the above expressions are karma-engendering: One might think or desire something, but not necessarily act upon it – yet karma is created because “energy follows thought” – the thought or emotion will return in some form:

“Accidents are frequently caused by what might be regarded as “explosions of force”. These are generated by a [wo]man or by a group of human beings through hatred or jealousy or vindictiveness, which qualities react or are “turned back” upon the individual life like a boomerang.”37

A “dweller”, “dwells” at the “threshold” of the soul, the entrance or exit that constitutes a door. “Thresh” is a word that describes the “threshing of the grain” – from where the word “thrash” is derived. Saturn (the law) will deliver a “thrashing” – if deviation from the law is extreme! Some of the dire testings for initiation might be likened to being “thrashed within an inch of one’s life”!

Saturn is the “reaper of the grain” – the harvester of human souls at death and also those ready for initiation. Saturn as ruler of Capricorn is closely associated with initiation – playing an important role with its current transit of Capricorn – for the first time in thirty years.

Saturn is the Guardian at the door of initiation, which is also the “gate of hell” – Pluto’s realm. When close to initiation, the angel or soul battles with the Dweller on the Threshold. The dweller is revealed and the soul goes consciously into battle with it.

Hence, the threshing floor that separates the wheat from the chaff, is the “thrashing floor” of initiation – where the golden sattvas or seeds of life experiences are extracted – to be stored in the great “grain bin” of the soul’s causal body. Wheat and chaff are symbolically the soul and the personality.

The threshing floor is a popular symbol in exoteric Christianity, as a symbol of judgment. God’s judgment would scatter the “sinners” to the winds like chaff from the threshing floor. John the Baptist uses the same imagery to describe the coming Messiah who would separate the true believers from the false or the “wicked” – the latter being the “chaff” that would be “burned up”. (Luke 3:17).

Many souls, or Humanity as a whole – are not quite ready to give up what is required for initiation –  hence, “thresh about” or struggle violently. Saturn brings them surely and firmly to a place of acquiescence – and might resort to “thrash” those that “thresh” – into submission! This is why Saturn has been regarded in medieval astrology as a “malefic”, an antiquated word for a less enlightened view of Saturn – the imposer of penalties/karma for recalcitrant humans refusing to follow universal/earthly laws.

Hence, the Pluto-Saturn conjunction in Capricorn invokes Saturn as the “planetary dweller” to open and reveal the “gates of hell” for Humanity; this has already been gradually occurring in 2019 and will increase with greater intensity for 2020.

Cerberus (William Blake. 1824-7. )

So far, the Pluto-Saturn gates of hell have revealed horrors of the ecology and climate crises, animal extinction and the spread of a new virus that originated in exotic animals for human consumption; the stark, ongoing revelations of greed for basic human resources like water, the misuse of power in politics etc. The Australian bushfires have been described in many Plutonic ways – “hell on earth”, “hell and back”, “hellish sky”, “dark night of the soul” etc. – a metaphor and fact for the world at large.

Cerberus was the fierce three-headed dog that guarded that gates of hell. The dog is a symbol of Canis Major, the constellation that contains the star Sirius, believed to be a triple system and whose forces pass potently through the triangle of Cancer-Capricorn and Saturn. Hence, Cerberus might be interpreted as a ferocious guardian of the greater law of karma:

“The Lords of Karma on our system are under the rule of a greater Lord of Karma on Sirius. We are governed by the Sirian Lord of Karma.”38

The global dweller embraces the dwellers of nations – especially in the USA, where arguably the world soul and world dweller face off to one another. The great conflict proceeds and the impeachment proceedings against Donald Trump are part of that process. (More later on Trump’s very sobering Saturn transits.)

Mars in Sagittarius: USA and the World
The theme of transiting Mars in Sagittarius was recently commented upon in relation to the Australian bushfires and ongoing blazes. The transit of Mars through Sagittarius from Jan.3 to Feb.16 promises to be a bumpy ride – because this sign is one of the most volatile and emotional of the fire signs.

Consequently, its “arrows” may fire indiscriminately in all directions. Depending upon the level of soul unfoldment, Sagittarius can be the proverbial “loose cannon” at times – lacking clear direction, a danger to themselves and others.

When these qualities are combined with Mars the god of war, the degree of instability is increased. Mars rules the solar plexus, seat of the emotions – the source of Sagittarian impulsiveness and fanaticism. Placed in Sagittarius, Mars represents a powerful drive to seek the truth and travel to the ends of the Earth – the rollicking adventurer with an urgent will to know.

But the Mars in Sag shadow expresses the worst of fundamentalism – not only in religion, but in any realm of human thought – sciences, arts, politics etc. Fundamentalism is essentially an emotional adherence to ideas – being a Believer rather than a Knower.

Mars in Sagittarius carries a wild, yet endearing enthusiasm – the aggressive or boisterous party animal – the carousing centaurs!; it is also particularly sensitive and reactive to religious idealism and fanaticism.

Mars rules the sixth ray, which finds its most powerful expression through Sagittarius in this cycle; the sixth ray is the personality of the USA and other nations such as Russia. The glamours and vices of the sixth ray are interference, war mongering, selfishness, jealousy, sentimentality, loyalties and creeds, world saviour complex, narrow vision etc.

USA also has strong Sagittarian features – through its personality expression in the political capital Washington, DC – and through the rising sign of the 1776 Declaraton of Independence horoscope. Therefore, this nation is very sensitive to a transit from Mars in Sagittarius, especially when it will oppose its natal Mars in Gemini, in early February. That transit of Mars conjoins Trump’s erratic moon in Sagittarius during that time.

Pence, Trump, Pompeo. If Trump is impeached then evangelical Pence will take over as president.

“Mars … rules … the individual … as that individual responds to mass vibration in Sagittarius … Mars [rules] … the lunar lords of the form nature who must eventually be sacrificed to the higher spiritual aspect and brought under the control of the solar Angel [the soul]. The effect of Mars is, therefore, largely mass effect and group results, producing great struggles but leading finally to great revelation.”39

Hence today, there is an US President with the moon in Sagittarius, surrounded by fanatical idealists: The “two Mikes” – Pompeo and Pence – fundamentalist Christians who both cite evangelical theology as a powerful motivating force.

Along with other fanatical US politicians, from Hillary Clinton to John Bolton and Nikki Haley – the US has been “itching” to find an excuse to attack Iran for years. Hence, the US attack on one of Iran’s top generals, Soleimani – with the alleged complicity of Saudi Arabia and Israel.

These are the Christian “end times” so fervently and morbidly promoted by the Pentecostal and Evangelical groups – some of the most crystallised, fanatical and “Piscean” of all the Christian groups. Many of them foresee the “end of the world” through some major catastrophe and they regard what is happening in the world now – as that time arrived:

“The rapture invokes an apocalyptical Christian vision of the future, a final battle between good and evil, and the second coming of Jesus Christ, when the faithful will ascend to heaven and the rest will go to hell.”40 Well, paradoxically this is true – as esotericism relates! The Master Jesus, along with the other Masters are set to re-externalise among Humanity.within this century.

And then there is Iran with its archaic Piscean fundamentalist religion, Islam. Witness the poor 56 souls who were crushed to death in a stampede at Qassem Soleimani’s funeral – another example of the crippling fanaticism and hysteria of Mars and the sixth ray.

Also Israel, whose Hebrew religion is the oldest and most crystallised. The Saudi’s ultra-conservative Wahabbism is one of the most distorted and archaic of them all! Hence the role of the current Saturn-Pluto conjunction in destroying all these outworn forms, yet the equally tenacious tendency to hang onto these old forms!

Mars in Sagittarius is also prone to spread the *wildfire of propaganda* – as Rupert Murdoch’s media attempted during the Australian bushfires, exaggerating the statistics of arson – in their bid to play down the role of climate change. Thankfully this attitude has been strongly challenged by one of his sons, Lachlan Murdoch.

As to whether Mars in Sagittarius is lighting the fuse for WWIII starting in Iran, analysts say there will not be a full blown war, but a very dangerous game is being played out – by desperate and unstable leaders of some nations. This “game” is hype and propaganda to stir up world fear, feed off it and distract from other issues such as impeachment proceedings or re-elections.

May we not buy into that propaganda and react like Pavlov’s dogs every time something dramatic like this occurs! More than often, it is the puppeteers of propaganda pulling the proverbial strings. There is a very good chance that the USA has no intention of starting any war with Iran, as the latest back-peddling news stories suggested just a few days after the event. Regarding a world war, the following quote has been speculated upon a lot by students in the past ten years:

“Orthodox Judaism … the other faiths, should realise that there is no desire to make them Christian … but that they should all move towards some loving synthesis and eliminate their mutual antagonisms and rivalries is equally urgent, and this statement includes the Christian faiths as well.

That the Vatican cease its political scheming, its exploitation of the masses and its emphasis upon ignorance is as important; that the manifold divisions of the Protestant churches be bridged is imperative. If none of these things happen, humanity is headed towards a religious war which will make the past war [WWII] appear like child’s play; antagonisms and hatreds will embroil entire populations and the politicians of all the nations will take full advantage of the situation to precipitate a war which may well prove the end of humanity. There are no hatreds so great or so deep as those fostered by religion.”41

The question now is, has the possibility faded as recently speculated by the author, or is it really “crunch time” now? A WWIII scenario would involve a nuclear exchange, which most nations realise would be the end of the world – and so they would resist that option. There is a lesser known statement from Foster Bailey, who was privy to some inner knowledge from the Hierarchy during the early 1950’s – at the height of the nuclear arms cold war between Russia and the USA:

“When the war [WWII] was over, the forces of darkness were pushed back but they were not crushed. And ever since then there has been the possibility of a third world war that would end the whole human experiment up to date and start us back as an infant humanity to begin to learn it all over again. And in 1954, it was established subjectively and in reality that there will be no third world war … 1954 was a great year, a very spiritual significant year.”42

The full moon of Capricorn 2020 completed a period of focus for the New Group of World Servers – to consolidate their building processes began at the Capricorn solstice and World Servers week 2019: To bring a calming force into the planetary atmosphere, through personal and group meditations, directing energy through the five planetary centres; to invoke the avatar known as the Spirit of Peace – whose approach to Humanity draws ever closer – on the lead up to 2025 and the next phase of the Planetary Plan.

Donald Trump’s Year of Reckoning?
There are several transits that will be most potent for the USA president in 2020, not least of which is the Saturn-Pluto conjunction that fell opposite Trump’s Saturn-Venus in Cancer. Throughout 2020, transiting Jupiter will pass back and forth opposing Saturn-Venus, reactivating this point in late March, early July and mid November.

The US elections are held on November 3. The last hit will be particularly powerful as Jupiter joins Pluto’s last retrograde opposition to Trump’s Saturn-Venus in Cancer.

To understand this transit, means to understand Saturn’s detriment in Cancer: Inhibition of emotional expression, estrangement or emotional isolation from the mother/parents, deep insecurity or wounding; hypersensitivity, defensiveness and strong attachments to material possessions; fluid retention can cause overweight conditions – emotional “armour”.

Trump’s sensitivity to criticism is well known, though he is not averse to throwing plenty out! Venus conjunct Saturn repesents great devotion to his family and a somewhat “tribal” survival consciousness which is rooted in the sacral centre. The other factor with a Pluto-Saturn opposition is the revelation of family activities, past or current – and with natal Venus involved, even a breakup of his marriage. This Venus-Saturn conjunction sits on USA’s Mercury in Cancer, hence his nation is the extended family, to which he is loyal and devotional – in his own unique way!

Venus-Saturn are planets that are both concerned with money – there are many billionaires that have Venus-Saturn aspects in their horoscopes: Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg – to name a few. Here is the “hoarding” mentality of Cancer the Crab – the amassing of wealth.

Venus-Saturn in Cancer can create great attachment and identification to wealth – and the peer group of billionaires sought for approval. Venus-Saturn in Cancer’s deep insecurity always sees the cup half empty and pushes for greater measures of amassing and hoarding. “Oh, I am down to my last billion, whatever am I going to do!”

Yet Trump’s track record financially is abysmal and has always been overstated or lied about, due to Cancer ruler, Moon in “exaggitarius” – opposite his Gemini sun. (His mantra of “lying Hillary” is the greatest projection!) Therefore Trump’s financial situation may be drastically exposed and battered in 2020 – by Pluto the Revealer. If the horoscope of the leader of the nation says something about the nation, then the USA could also go into a major recession, a possibility that is already “on the cards”.

Bear in mind that USA is entering its first ever 248 year-cycle of the Pluto return in the next few years. In the USA’s 1776 horoscope, Pluto in Capricorn is in the second house of money and resources, representing the vast wealth of this nation. Hence, this Saturn-Pluto conjunction opposite USA’s Mercury in Cancer/Trump’s Venus-Saturn in Cancer, marks the first stage of the Pluto return by 2022. Esoterically, Saturn in Cancer is expressed most poignantly in an oft-quoted paragraph:

“In this sign Saturn is in the home of its detriment and thus produces those difficult conditions and situations which will lead to the needed struggle. This makes Cancer a place of symbolic and emphasises the pains and penalties of wrong orientation.

It is the conflict of the soul with its environment—consciously or unconsciously carried on—which leads to the penalties of incarnation and which provides those conditions of suffering which the soul has willingly undertaken when—with open eyes and clear vision—the soul chose the path of earth life with all its sacrifices and pains consequent, in order to salvage the lives with which it had an affinity.”43

Indeed, will Trump experience – unlike any other time in his life, “the pains and penalties of wrong orientation … the penalties of incarnation and … conditions of suffering”? And how possible is the higher potential of this position – “salvaging of the lives with which it had an affinity”? The only real “affinity” evidenced thus far has been financial – big tax breaks for billionaires.

If there was a recession in the USA over the next few years, there might be the possibility of a “financial reset” that leads to a fairer redistribution of wealth. From this perspective, it is impossible to separate Trump’s horoscope from the nation’s fortunes.

Another major transit is that of Uranus in Taurus squaring Trump’s progressed midheaven (career, work) in first ray Leo. This has already been occurring for over a year and will continue to the exact square again in April, but then moves into squaring planet of power, Pluto. This kind of transit can create a major upset in the career or dislodge someone from power – think The Tower tarot card! The square of stationary Uranus to Pluto will be exact from June to September April 2021 to the end of that year.

It appears that overall, if Trump thinks he is having difficulties now, the next two years could see the transit of Saturn bring the full weight of the law to bear – with Plutonic ruthlessness; he has been involved in continuous litigation virtually from the time he took office – part of his personality revels in it, but the game is shifting to another level now. As an “apprentice” in the world of politics, he may very well hear that phrase for which he was so fond of delivering – “you’re fired”! Commenting upon this Saturn-Pluto opposition to Trump’s Venus-Saturn, another astrologer says,

Bernie Sanders, the best challenger to Trump thus far.

“Such an astrological configuration is indicative of serious opposition coming to and against Trump, thwarting his drive for power and ultimately working to hamper his purposes. and throwing him back upon himself for a period of deep self-facing.

This configuration Trump now will experience for the next three calendar years is not at all indicative of wild, runaway popularity, nor of easy success, nor of automatic release from the serious charges now levelled against him in numerous courts of law throughout the United States, and one quite possibly soon to be lodged against him in the International Court of Justice by Iran.

If the American Republican Party thinks they have found their ideal poster-boy in the figure of Trump, they will without a doubt find out differently over the next three years as these transits to Trump’s chart unfold.

A few poll numbers collected over the last week hint at or perhaps even nakedly reveal the direction of public sentiment in regard to Trump. According to a CNN poll taken during the days of the ongoing Senate trial, 51% of voting age Americans want Trump convicted of the impeachment charges and removed from office. This level of oppositional sentiment is higher even than the mere 46% desire for conviction and removal which turned against Nixon shortly before he was forced to resign.

Hence, Trump is in a zone of greater political danger than was Nixon, who left the presidential office in disgrace after having been found to have committed a number of offenses. This means that Trump does not have the public support claimed by his party. Further, another poll shows that 60% of voting age Americans disapprove of the attitudes and actions of Trump’s right-hand man in the Senate, Republican Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, another indication that the Republican Party does not have the grip on the American psyche that its leadership claims.”44

Saturn-Jupiter Conjunctions and US Presidents
Many US presidents have been assassinated or died in office, close to a Saturn-Jupiter conjunction – except for Reagan and G.W. Bush:

“According to financial astrologer Daniel T. Ferrera, whenever a great conjunction [Jupiter-Saturn] occurs during an election or inauguration year, the president is likely to die in office. Careful analysis shows that, although it remained correct from 1840 to 1960, this rule started to “lose its power” after 1980. However, even though those presidents did not die in office, they still came close in each case.”45

Indeed, it might be the case for Donald Trump if he gets re-elected in November 2020. Trump is not in the best of health, is overweight, does not eat well – all of which puts a strain on the heart, ruled by his sign Leo; that is apart from all the pressures of office – decisions, indictments, impeachment, elections etc.

Moscow: Aquarius personality, Taurus soul.

Aquarius Russia, Putin and the West
Another example of the Pluto-Saturn conjunction is Putin’s proposal to restructure the entire Russian government – as part of a pre-planned phase of transformation. The Saturn-Pluto conjunction made a close square to his Mercury in Libra, whilst reforming Uranus opposes his Scorpio ascendant. With transiting Jupiter in Capricorn squaring Putin’s Libra sun, he has made a bold move.

“Russia has decided now to think of herself first, of her citizenry, and is pulling away from globalism as it has existed in these past years, as well as from entanglements with neoliberal economics and the ‘rule of law’ as put forward by the West. Expect for demonization of Russia and all sorts of wild speculation to spike now in the Western press. “Putin has weaponized Russian sovereignty!”46

The esoteric community might do well to take notice of Putin’s rather intricate and ambitious plan, domestically and internationally. Far from being a simplistic “grab for power”, many parts of his plan are an ideal blueprint for nations. Russia does not want conflict with USA or NATO nations, but has been forced to develop more sophisticated weapons because of the reinstatement of the cold war by the USA.

Russia’s wellbeing is the world’s wellbeing, particularly for its two current and largest adversaries – Britain and the USA. This is most ironic because spiritually speaking, the three nations have a destiny as a triangle in the Aquarian age.

Once they enter into a spirit of co-operation with one another and are not motivated by fear or manipulated by the Forces of Materialism, they will benefit the world enormously. Both Russia and the USA are Aquarian souls and both have sixth ray personalities that can be equally fanatical.

But if any nation has shown restraint to its constant taunting and distorted propaganda by other nations, it is Russia. Though younger and less mature than the USA and Britain, Russia might well be the nation that leads its “elder brothers” into a future where the forces within the triangle are flowing more harmoniously. Several of these subjects in the monthly newsletters are discussed on Facebook (You can “friend” the author here.) – and a recent comment made about Putin, was sent by someone very familiar with this nation:

“Is this a move away from democracy, as some people are suggesting? Yes, it is. But perhaps we should leave the paradigm where democracy is “good” and autocracy is “bad”, because on the modern scene of technocratic globalisation, everything that protects the grassroots becomes a positive thing.

Russia has a unique situation, where it has vast stretches of undeveloped and very scarcely populated land, that gives a space for people to return to the land and life’s core values, which are needed for the advancement of the Aquarian age.

And Putin seems to be in support of this. So, being a strong autocratic leader who happens to be in a position to protect the right values and a simple way of life may do enormous good – at least for now. Of course, we have to see how this will be implemented, but I am cautiously optimistic, that a lot of good can potentially come out of this situation, if Russian people answer the same call.

Note three of the five main planetary centres associated with each nation: USA – New York City. London – British Empire. Geneva – Russia and Europe.

So, if we analyse his actions from the globalised “democratic” point of view, we would be dismayed, because it centralises power even more, departs from international law and brings judiciary under tighter control – and it all flies in the face of the urban demos. But then again, it might create a safe bubble for those, who want to take an alternative way and a more natural lifestyle.”47

The Combined Destiny of Russia, Britain and USA
It may be timely at the beginning of this critical new year 2020, to be reminded of the spiritual relationship which must come to bear between these three great nations, in light of a sustained and unnecessary cold war. As the world moves into an era of greater possibilities for Aquarian co-operation,

“… there are three great fusing energies or vital centres present upon our planet:

a. Russia, fusing and blending eastern Europe and western and northern Asia.
b. The United States (and later South America), fusing and blending central and western Europe and the entire western hemisphere.
c. The British Empire, fusing and blending races and men throughout the entire world.

In the hands of these nations lies the destiny of the planet.”48

Out of these three groups, two are ruled by Aquarius at the soul level – Russian and the USA.49 (The only other nation with Aquarius ruling at the soul level is The Netherlands.) It is appropriate that two of these three nations have Aquarian “guidance” at the beginning of the Aquarian Age.

Moscow also has an Aquarian personality, contributing further to Russia’s vast scientific prowess, unconventionality, rebelliousness and individualism. (The latter  its Leo personality!) The following was written in the 1940’s but is still true today:

“Russia is a giant, getting into his stride—a young giant, aware of great possibility, animated by a deeply religious [sixth ray], though unorthodox [Aquarius] spirit, handicapped by a combination of oriental traits and occidental purposes, and distrusted by the world, owing to earlier moves falsely taken.

These moves were an attempt to infiltrate into other nations, in order to upset their stability and so weaken them that they could be easily swept into the house of humanity which Russia is attempting to build. Russia is inwardly (but as yet unconsciously) motivated by a desire to bring brotherhood into being.”50

“Russia is a giant”.

That distrust has carried through to the various cold wars since WWII – and has been present today to an alarming and peace-threatening degree. The maya of media is further being used through global corporatised networks, to the degree that most of the world’s population is not clear about what is going on in Ukraine and Russia, and what the issues are.

Nevertheless, two points of this triangle – Britain and the USA, are actively pitted against Russia for various reasons, imperialistic control, resources, ego etc. Hence, the selfish interests that compound these problems are contrary to the Planetary Plan. USA and Russia in particular are dealing with the fact that they both have sixth ray personalities, a ray that can create much fanaticism:

“The keynote, however, of human living will be struck by Russia, Great Britain and the United States — not because of their power, their historical past and their material resources or territorial extent, but because they are in a position to fuse and blend the many types, because they are far-visioned in their world purpose, because they are not basically selfish in their intent, and because the government of the peoples reaches down into the depths of each nation and is fundamentally for the people.”51

As an Aquarian soul working through its capital Moscow – an Aquarian personality, Russia is uniquely positioned to illuminate the Aquarian tenets of brotherhood and co-operation in the world:

“The true secret of brotherhood (one hitherto unknown and unrealized) is hers to give the world, but as yet she knows not what it is. This fact, that Russia is the spiritual custodian of a revelation, is sensed by the other nations in the world; and the first reaction has been fear, based on certain initial mistakes and her premature activity upon the physical plane.

Nevertheless, all peoples view Russia with expectation; they dimly realize that from her will come some new thing, for Russia is rapidly maturing and integrating and will demonstrate that she has much to give.”52

It is noteworthy that several towering teachers of the ageless wisdom emerged from the soul of Russia: Helena P. Blavatsky, Nicholas and Helena Roerich, George Gurdjieff etc. Imagine what else might reside within the soul of this “slumbering” but awakening giant?

Aquarius Rising: Israel’s New ‘Peace’ Plan

The recent proclamation of a two-state solution of Israel and Palestine – is a bogus plan by two of the largest liar-leaders the world has known. Based upon their poor track record, how could anyone with the slightest discrimination, believe that such a mostly-favourable plan for Israel might work? A plan that did not even involve consultation with the Palestinians or Jordan?

Furthermore, its Capricorn, uber-Zionist architect, Jared Kushner – a very bright and dubious ex-real estate developer, with no experience in foreign affairs said, “he did not want to hear about the history of the conflict” – in order to solve the problem. That might have been a novel approach, but Kushner may not have heard the old adage, “If we ignore history then we are condemned to repeat the mistakes of the past”. (More astrology on Kushner here and here.)

This plan is not only an insult to the Palestinians, but to the intelligence and goodwill of most nations. A joke, a lie, a bit of convenient theatre for Trump and Netanyahu to distract from their own troubles – as well as garnering voting support from the diehard, fanatics of the evangelical Christian right. And it is all reflected in Israel’s Aquarius rising horoscope.

At this current “landmark” decision, the progressed midheaven in Aquarius was activated by the transiting Sun. Those two points fall opposite Israel’s Leo moon, long commented upon as “Israel’s dweller”. The Leo moon is the Lion of Judea that has imposed itself in the Middle East, based upon a racial/religious illusion that the “Promised Land” was the retrospective right of a “Chosen People”.

Remarks by Kushner could not be more blaming of the Palestinians, ignoring the fact that past negotiation offers fell well short of the mark, or made impossible demands.

Avowed defender of Israel and right wing Zionism, Tony Blair ultimately failed in his role for eight years as Middle East peace envoy.

“Jared Kushner told CNN that the Palestinians have repeatedly missed opportunities to make peace and urged them to accept the deal if they wanted a state of their own. “If they don’t, then they’re going to screw up another opportunity like they’ve screwed up every other opportunity that they’ve ever had in their existence,” he said.

Tony Blair, the former British prime minister who then became a Middle East peace envoy, also appealed to the Palestinians to embrace negotiations saying the plan offered a last hope. “The American peace plan is an extraordinarily detailed and thorough attempt to set out a plan for a two-state solution,” he said in a statement. “The Palestinians do not need to signal acceptance of the plan, but to engage with the American government and demand the improvements to it they wish to see.””53

Within all these statements and attitudes dwells an US/Israel dictatorial attitude that leaves no room for Palestinian self-determination. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas slammed the plan, declaring “Jerusalem is not for sale” and warning that the “conspiracy deal will not pass.” 

Israel’s transits and progressions on the day of the ‘peace plan’ announcement.

Also prominent, is the transit of Uranus in Taurus (Israel’s sun sign) square to the progressed Sun in Leo (for the past year and for another month), further exacerbating a “me first” mentality of dominance and Israeli tribal pride. Observers have stated that this plan will push Israel into a deeper apartheid state that may have the unintended consequences of Israel branded more widely as a pariah nation – and ultimately not surviving.

This Uranus transit will continue to square Israel’s moon in the next couple of years, starting around April 2020, exact in June and October 2020, with a final square in March 2021. During this same period, the progressed midheaven (dharma/destiny) – in Aquarius, moves up to oppose the Leo moon exactly.

The meaning of this transit is fraught with conflict – because Uranus, the revolutionary transformer and ruler of the Aquarian ascendant, seeks to dislodge the deeply entrenched attitudes of Israel’s Leo moon. Currently the Aquarius ascendant expresses itself mainly through its Uranus rulership – a world leader in science and technology.

Israel’s higher purpose however, is through Jupiter’s soul rulership of Aquarius – the potential of universal community, where diverse peoples live in shared harmony and co-operation – the “greater kibbutz” ideal; which can only happen when this troubled nation “gets over itself” – the Leo moon shadow attributes:

The Lion of Judah is actually The Christ. Judah was an ancient Israelite tribe and the Master Jesus incarnated in a Jewish body to redeem this ancient karma – with Christ overshadowing. Hence the great irony and tragedy that the Jews rejected the Messiah.

– National pride. Dictatorial attitudes and control.
– Superiority and condescension toward Palestinians, who many Israeli’s regard as “inferior”.
– Israel the “drama queen” always playing the role of “victim”; exaggerating, blowing issues out of proportion.
– Israel’s “divine right” to claim the land as their own.

Other problems not directly related to the Leo moon are continuous and devious exploitation of Holocaust remembrance and the need to root out ultra-Zionist right wing fanatics. Indeed, as stated by many observers, Israel has recreated the cruelties of WWII’s Warsaw ghetto by herding Palestinians in portions of the West Bank – that lack adequate basics of living like clean water and electricity. The simple solution to the Leo moon problem is the evocation of its higher expression – an all embracing generosity and magnanimity! Why is that so hard to express?

As most Palestinians are Muslim, it might be supposed that it is a religious discrimination and persecution against the Palestinians; that might be true for the powerful minority of right wing Zionists. But there is also ethnic discrimination, even though Israeli’s and Palestinians are part of the same Semitic subrace – there are internecine branchrace issues that are very ancient.

To give an idea of the complexity of the situation, there are almost 5 million Palestinians scattered through Gaza and the West Bank, with about half a million in East Jerusalem. The population of Jews in Israel is almost 7 million. There are more than 50 laws that discriminate against Palestinian citizens of Israel, directly or indirectly, based solely on their ethnicity, rendering them second or third class citizens in their own homeland.

Other significant transits for Israel’s horoscope in this same period through to 2021, will be Jupiter and Saturn passing over the Aquarian ascendant. Jupiter is the embodiment of the Water Bearer and soul ruler of Aquarius; it will pass over the Aquarian ascendant in mid February 2021 for the first time in 12 years, coinciding with the last square of Uranus to Israel’s Leo moon.

Just a few weeks before then in late January 2021, Jupiter conjoins Israel’s progressed midheaven/opposite Leo moon. If Israel has responded to the “call” of Uranus-square-the-moon during that period, then the transit of Jupiter across the ascendant will be most fruitful and represent a vast improvement – a true pouring forth of waters from the soul of the nation. Otherwise, the transit by Uranus will manifest as a “radical” or erratic expression of all the dominating traits of the Leo moon.

Likewise, Saturn follows soon after, passing over the progressed midheaven/opposite Moon in Leo in mid-March 2021, mid-August 2021 and mid-December 2021. Therefore, the whole of 2021 will be a severely testing period for Israel to exercise compassionate restraint, because the point of least resistance for a transit like this is ruthlessness – which it has expressed on many occasions toward the Palestinians – the Samson to Israel’s Goliath.

The higher way involves much soul searching and reflection, Israel embracing its collective shadow and allowing the soul to take control. During this period, Saturn touches briefly on the Aquarian ascendant in May 2021, before returning exactly by mid-January 2022; by that time, the world will know whether Israel has risen to its occasion.

The People’s Front of Judea!

The Labours of Hercules in Australia
The crash of the C-130 water bomber while on bushfire detail, marks another tragic loss in the Australian fires crisis this summer. The C-130 is a famous multi-tasking workhorse also known as the Hercules, named after the mythological hero who went through many arduous labours and testing travels.

In the eleventh Aquarian labour, Hercules is tasked with diverting two large rivers in order to cleanse the filth of accumulated years of cattle dung from the royal stables of King Augeas. (See earlier picture and reference.)  There is a parallel with the water-bombing work of the Hercules aircraft and this Aquarian purification labour. The extraordinary extent and intensity of the Australian fires are a purging and purification that is taking place all over the continent. (Australian cities are still experiencing temperatures in the 40’s (celsius).

The plane and its very experienced three-man American crew were working these fires but crashed for reasons yet unknown – most likely through structural stresses that these large aircraft experience, manoeuvering heavy loads of fire retardant or water. The plane was most likely struggling under these conditions – the labours of the Hercules.

At the time of the crash in Jan.23 at around 2 pm, the Sun was in Aquarius – prominently on the midheaven of Australia’s horoscope – a tragic, high profile event for the nation and internationally – a leased Canadian plane with a US crew. The transiting sun in Aquarius was exactly square to its ruler Uranus in Taurus.

Uranus-Aquarius rule aviation and Australia’s natal Uranus was also activated by transiting Mars in Sagittarius. Mars was described in a recent newsletter, passing over all of Australia’s Sagittarius planets – as heatwaves and bushfires rekindle – after a recent respite of rain.

Transiting Mars conjunct Uranus in the eighth house of death, along with the sun square Uranus – are certainly major astrological significators of this aviation accident. Mars will continue its passage through Sagittarius until early February, triggering three more planets in this sign, whilst the Australian summer has around another eight weeks. What Mars might bring is unknown but it is usually dramatic. Australia’s forecast is for more hotter and drier than average summer which is unfortunately the perfect combination for more fires.

Australia is going through an assault by the elements of almost biblical proportions, which must be rattling its Evangelical PM, Scott Morrison. Extremes of fire, floods, and several recent giant dust storms. Jupiter Pluvius was conjunct Australia’s sun for a few days, bringing widespread relief for many fires – with the political capital Canberra – bombarded by giant hail stones.

Coronavirus Part I
“The scourge of influenza has its roots in fear and worry.”
Although the coronavirus comes from animals, it can give flu like symptoms and is a disease which affects and engenders fear in the masses. In this era of fear and trepidation, of existential threats and world events, often further manipulated by various agencies, there is nothing like a virus scare to compound the existing problem!

“The problems of worry and irritation (called by the Master Morya “imperil”) are many and must be considered. Why are these difficulties of the astral body so “perilous” and so serious?  Worry and Irritation are dangerous because:

1. They lower the vitality of the [wo]man to such a point that he becomes susceptible to disease. The scourge of influenza has its roots in fear and worry, and once the world settles down to freedom from the present “fearful” condition [WWII], we shall see the disease die out.

2. They are so highly infectious from the astral point of view that they lower in a peculiar manner the astral atmosphere, and thus make it hard for people—in the astral sense—to breathe freely.

3. Because the astral conditions of fear, worry and irritation are so widespread today that they might be regarded as epidemic, in a planetary sense.

4. Because irritation (I speak not here of worry) is inflammatory in its effects—and inflammation is hard to bear—and leads to much difficulty.”54
